I have been working hard during work the 1st half of August (therefore the lack of post, sorry!) because I wanted a week long holiday at the end of the month. I really don’t want work to come messing with my holidays!!
So I was at Melaka for the weekend with my dad and sisters.
Night view at Melaka’s riverside. There’s a name for this place/ river but sorry, I can’t remember! But it’s not hard to find, since it’s located near to the Stadhuys
Didn’t get the chance to eat the famous Chicken Rice Balls, too many people and my dad, sisters and me HATES waiting
And it was so darn hot! But anyway, we did manage to eat this though!
If you had followed me on Twitter, you’d know I tweeted about this – Nasi lemak in Melaka comes with kangkung (water spinach) and shredded scramble eggs
I haven’t seen anywhere else where nasi lemak comes with kangkung. And really, I love nasi lemak! Awesome sinful food!
This particular nasi lemak is found near the Portugese settlement, it’s quite hard to miss me thinks!
And cendol is just perfect for the hot humid weather! The one on the left is coconut, the right is durian. Smells nice but it’s too sweet for my liking, and there’s nothing so special for the price my dad paid. I am better off eating cendols off the roadside. LOL. Ate this at Tan Kim Hock, another place that’s hard to miss!
And finally, the highlight of the family trip!
Was to celebrate my sisters’ birthday! Their birthdays is about 2 weeks apart, and one is older than the other one by 5 years
Happy birthday girls! And I don’t owe you birthday prezzie no more!
Well, that’s a pretty short road trip and here comes the major one!
Was off to Tawau!
It was just another ordinary town, and so very different from KL. A lot of stuff and brands you can’t get there. If you are a shopaholic, no, don’t go there. You will cringe and cry. Nothing outstanding about the stand, well, unless the flash flood that happened which was so sudden!
But they do have some good food!
Foodie time!
Polo bun! The pineapple jam was self made by the owner, if I am not mistaken. Definitely not those mass-made pineapple jam for sure! I want more!!!
ABC with generous servings of sliced/ diced fruits! Not too sweet, not too thick, just nice! And they serve toast with home made kaya! Yums!
Mee soto, a type of Indonesian dish, which taste great. Mine in the picture is Seafood Soto, and the seafood is fresh and juicy
And this my friends, goes with the mee soto. But this isn’t your average chili dip, it’s SUPER SPICY!
Now before I leave Tawau, I went to the oil palm estate to have a somewhat educational picnic trip. LOL.
Nothing much, just oil palms.
Now after Tawau, it’s the one place which I look forward to most, Kapalai Island!
It was so beautiful that I was like a real kid, jumping with joy! And had to call Unni and Maknae to tell them bout the place!
Look at the clear blue sea! Just awesome! The sky’s pretty grey because it was rainy. Blah.
Lounge area. Great place to capture sunrise/ sunset.
The dining area. Food are served from 7am till 11pm, ala buffet style. You can eat in the main hall or go outside where there’s tables and benches for you to enjoy your food while looking at the sea.
The chalets. Very cozy and comfy. You’ll know in just a few secs.
I love the bathroom most! I love that I can open up the windows and enjoy cool sea breeze while soaking in the tub. But don’t worry, your privacy is ensured as there’s a wooden blind to block people from looking, but there’s an opening at the bottom where you see the clear blue sea. Quite syiok if you ask me, but rather chilly too!
Each room has their own balcony and you can view sunset/sunrise from here if you wished to. You can even see the man made beach from here!
It’s quite a long walk to the beach though. And there’s no shade. So it’s mighty hot!
Love the sky! So blue after the rain stopped!
And at night, we managed to catch a glimpse of turtles just outside the balcony! Beautiful creatures! There were about 10 of them, swimming around.
By the way, can you see how clear the water is?
The bf and his new baby, Nikon D90 – cameo scene! LOL.
Starfish and fishies
Random shots taken from the balcony.
Starry night sky <3
Last but not least, me enjoying the moment!
Till next week, have a happy weekend!

Kapalai Resort, if u got friends in sabah ask them book for u! if not the cost will be quite high if you book urself or through agency. it’s about rm400 or so per pax if u ask the locals to book for u

Hi there,
Mind if I ask how long’s your stay at Kapalai and the cost of the chalet per night?
Their website isn’t much of a help in terms of costing, haha THANKS!

Hm, i stayed there for only 2 days 1 night, cost per pax is around rm400 but the locals there helped my book the room, if you go through agency/ book urself, the cost is definitely higher
