Singapore Beauty Finds & Mini Hauls

After making you yawn and say “oh how boring” etc with 2 post about my trip in Singapore, I think this the one part where most of you would be excited about, or maybe not.

Excited or not, I will still blog about it because I am excited bout, at least for the few days I was there :D

The first place we visited was Sephora. And the LARGEST one in Asia.

I haven’t got any pictures, well, Kimmy said to be discreet because they don’t like it? or somewhat. But I think you all can go google a bit for yourself on it, ya?

When they said the LARGEST, I expected it to be really, really, really BIG, but I was quite disappointed because it really didn’t seem that large anyway. One quick walk and I am done looking at almost everything.

I pretty much just took a quick glance of everything and then I just felt, “Oh, so this is Sephora?” It didn’t excite me as much as I thought it would. Maybe I wasn’t really much into makeup shopping at that time. Yeah, I really don’t feel like it that time.

The only thing that I would ever think of buying is the Too Faced Shadow Insurance. It’s priced as SGD28, which is quite decent, although it’s still a bit more expensive than buying it in US or online, but look, you don’t need to pay for shipping, neither you need to wait for it to arrive, quite a good deal ya?

I did find time to play around with Sephora’s in house brand, and I am quite pleased with the stuff they offer. Blushes, to be exact! I bought one after Kimoko recommended one to me :D It cost me SGD22, not too shabby. And oops, I forgot to take an individual picture! >_<

We headed to Watsons and stayed a while there. It wasn’t huge, but it was crowded!

I spotted these new stuff from Maybelline, definitely not in Malaysia yet :) Although new, I didn’t test them out though. Not that interested in it anyway.

Now this one I quite like! Angelfit Pore Zero Base, SGD19.90~ It’s matte and leaves a smooth finish. Comes with SPF25 too! Not sure about it’s oil control properties though. Didn’t buy it because I have too many primers and as of late, I don’t do makeup that much, no thanks to my injured finger.

They have Cezanne too, which to me, they are just so-so only. I have got nothing much to say about them. Kimmy and me swatched their eyeshadows and found them chalky, not worth the SGD20.90 at all. Their blushers weren’t impressive either. And with that, I stop swatching every other thing from Cezanne.

I swatched all the Gransenbon available there, and honestly, with the price tag of SGD29.90, they can do much better by improving their texture! They weren’t exactly silky to the touch, and there were a few that were gritty and way too shimmery! I only bought myself 13 Cherry Fromage because that’s a colour which is nice, texture is okay and not too shimmery.

They have Liese and Essential, a new shampoo brand which has lovely lovely fruity smell! I think Kahani and Bee will like this! I have used to shampoo and will review it a bit later :) I regretted not getting the conditioner too :( Essential spokesperson is Suzanne (Not fond of her) and 皆藤愛子 Kaitou Aiko (now this is my type!)

They have Bourjois too! I won’t further elaborate since this is quite well known, but I am hitting myself for not getting the blushers! :( SGD20.90, pretty colours but nothing outstanding. Haha. Contradictive?

I also went to check on Bath & Bodyworks and also Victoria Secret. Retailling at SGD19, I find their fragrance too strong for my liking! I ended up having really stuff nose >_<

And then we head to Guardian.

It’s on sale! SGD2.90 per box! Each box 2 pieces! Cheap! Cheaper than buying in Guardian Malaysia! Of course, don’t compare with the price online ya~ I didn’t see NYX there, but Ryan told me only certain Guardian outlet carries it, and it’s dirty and yucky. Ew. I saw Kose’s Junkisei available there too! Beautiful red packaging, it’s hard to miss it!

Neutrogena Wave Cleanser was there, so was the cleansing oil. Biore’s cleansing oil and a new cleanser (blue bottle, can’t recall the name) is there too. Well, old news I suppose.

I also checked out the new Fasio’s palette at Sasa, to my dismay, it isn’t exactly that great. Good for beginner, nice to have if you collect, on a budget? Get Majolica Majorca. Haha. Enough said.

Sana eyelash curler is all out of stock. I tried a few Sasa, and that’s the answer I got. It’s pretty much the same as our local Sasa, except they do have Tsubaki and Aquair shampoo. Anything else I missed? Oh yeah, they have Kose’s Happy Bath Day range too!

The beauty shopping scene is Singapore is far more extensive than Malaysia, but I don’t have time to record everything down because I am a tourist and hence I need to do touristy stuff, so that’s why I only featured a few stuff here and there. And mind you, it’s not easy taking pictures with SA looking at you like as though I want to steal their stuff!

And my mini mini haul…

Very little right? I am so going back the next time and get myself more! I bet all of you can’t believe it, but believe what you see! I really didn’t buy much!

  1. That’s not a mini haul! It’s bigger than that. :D I know what you mean about the Gransenbon but you know, if you use the brush included, you pick up more pigment. A friend was disappointed with the texture when swatched but loved the applied effect with the brush.

Let me know how the Kenassy works!

  5. Mini, but good haul. =)

By the way, the Maybelline Hydra Boost Moisturizer feels really good! Effect, I don’t know. But I like the feeling. Ultra light, ultra watery.

Essential Shampoo is good too! Though imo, not as soft and silky effect as Asience. But it fulfills whatever it promises on TV very well. I just reviewed the pink range in my blog. Now into the orange range. Will review soon too. =) Looking forward to read yours.

Hmmm, is the Ginvera Green Tea Marvel Gel (new one) available over there? If you or your friends come over soon, might want to try that out too. It’s just out on shelves here. =)

Eliza: I think that’s for the pink one. Orange one doesnt do that for me :P

Jyoan: Orange is great! But I don’t think pink would be good for me, since it volumizes and I have more than enuff volume :) Not sure bout the Ginvera, I haven’t gone into Watsons to check new stuff!

  9. Hi may I ask which Watsons outlet you went to? I’ve been searching high and low for the Victoria’s Secret stand and I can’t seem to locate them in any outlets that I’ve been in! Thanks in advance!
