Shills Perfect Brightening Primer

I like Shills a lot basically. To the extend that I would repurchase items over and over and prays so hard that it will NEVER EVER be discontinued.

I hate it so much when TBS discontinued my favourite fragrance Magnolia, till I refused to step into TBS for a while. And then they go discontinued my Pink Grapefruit! What is wrong with people taking off good smelling stuff and retaining the yucky ones???

Bleh. Now you know why I always buy doubles for stuff I really like!

With that being said, this item I am reviewing is so not on my favourite list.

Why?

I have plenty to rant about! Haha!

Look at the fancy claims.

Primes, protects and correct in just one step! This anti-aging primer creates the perfect canvas for foundation application.

Offers smoothing & revitalizing effect. (it’s at the back of the tube which I forgot to take a picture of.)

Mysterious point 1: Protects? Hello? I don’t see any SPF here or anything that related to protection, unless there’s something else you wanna protect the face from… Hm… what could it be?

Mysterious point 2: Correction? What correction? This offers absolutely no correction at all.

See, it’s just a milky white-beigish pink base colour which goes on translucent after blending it out. Doesn’t cover my pores at all if I compare it to my Etude House Peach Pore Erasing Base which does a fantastic job, it doesn’t make my foundation last any longer, or maybe it did, but too little to be taken notice of. And offers absolutely no oil control. So the point of claiming that it helps to prime the skin before foundation is actually just crap. Doesn’t work that way at all.

Does it gets any worse?

Maybe, we have 3 more mysterious point that we haven’t talk about. Let’s explore those 3.

Mysterious point 3: It definitely did not revitalizes me. At all. I wonder what’s the logic behind the revitalization claim. Hm… Maybe the scent?

Mysterious point 4: Anti aging? What anti aging? I don’t see anything related to anti-aging here! Maybe I am blind?

The mysterious points stops right here.

The only thing that is true to it’s claim is smoothing out your face for the perfect canvas for foundation application. It does smoothen out, but if you used quite a fair bit of different primers, you’d notice that this isn’t awesome or very good in doing that. I think it’s just okay.

The texture is pretty nice to spread out, kinda creamy like, and it does have a nice scent. Nothing to strong, so don’t worry. The whole packaging is very girlie, pink and white with a faux diamond. Sweet huh?

Unless you love buying cute/sweet/pretty stuff instead of something that works, you can buy this, of course. But if you have a budget to stay to and prefers something that works instead of the pretty packaging, save your money for something else that works.

The product is 50ml and is sold approximately RM35-RM50 depending on sellers.

I may be passing by Etude House next week, Plue. Are there any products which I should check out? Etude House Peach Pore Erasing Base seems attractive.

Yukii: You can give their lip stain (tube) a try, and their Face Brightening Powder. It’s in a pan. And their Duo Fiber optic brush too, it’s wonderful!

Obviously u’re into Shills yea Plue? Coz u’ve been reviewing a lot on Shills products lately. ;P

Hehe other than the girly, pinky tube, I don’t see the point of forking out RM30++ on this product. Hmph I hate it when a product’s promises are too good to be true. (Dr Feel Good, anyone?)

Hanna: That’s my last Shills product atm. :) The only item I will ever repurchase is the concealer and the bb cream. not this, unless i find a way to make it work the way i want it to!

Thanks, Plue. Coincidentally, I am out of powder. However, who the heck is Yukii – May 29, 2009 @ 8.47 pm? Why were you repeating my comment?

    ><; It is not your fault. I was just disturbed. [My first thought was that I might have accidentally typed it as I was sleeping. Moronic me, yes?] Does the Face Brightening Powder come in different shades? I used Estee Lauder powder which was scented at the price of RM130. Geh.

Yukii: It comes in only 1 shade. It goes on translucent :) Or a slightly, very slightly beige tone :)
