Cheek & Highlight in 01 Tea Rose Pink

Taken from Canmake website: Soft, feminine pink, when you want a glamorous air

From my point of view, this is a purplish-reddish pink with a very fair beigy pink for highlighting purpose. Like what the website has stated, this is a pretty blusher for those who wants a more feminine aura, not so sporty, more of those mature office lady look. The Kirei look as the Japanese would put it in, or in English, a beautiful mature look, or in Mandarin, 知性美. If you still find it difficult to understand, try looking at the way Coffret D’Or spokesperson’s makeup, then you will understand what I mean.

Cheek & Highlight in 02 Peach Cream

Taken from Canmake website: Angelic peach that will make you happy. Gentle and innocent, for a lovable look like a young girl. It does exactly what it says. A pink based peach tone with very light pink-peach colour as a highlighter. I tend to shun away from blushers that has a orange or peach tone in it as I have yellow skin which makes me afraid of using it as it will either make me look even worse or it has that dirty look on me. But with this one, it’s has just the right amount of pink and peach in it and when applied on the skin, I look fresh!

Cheek & Highlight in 06 Strawberry Milk

Taken from Canmake website: A lovely pink that will bring a demure blush to your cheeks. Use the pink highlighter and say “sayonara (=good bye)” to tired-looking skin!

A true tone of pink with light pink for highlighting makes this a very sweet and girly blusher. Pair this with long, lush lashes and sweety pink lips, you’ve got yourself a self-made barbie doll!

Okay, I’m done with the colour reviews. Let’s get down to the others.

For staying power, it’s quite alright for it’s price. Lasted on me 2 to 3 hours before I need to touch up.

Colour payoff wise depends on how you look at it. If you are new to blusher or always put too much blusher on, this is good because you can slowly build up the colour and not worry having to red spots on your cheeks. But for those who prefers to have colours showing in one swipe, then it’ll be a big disappointment because 1 swipe just won’t show unless you are very fair. Skintones like mine (fair, but slightly towards to medium and slightly yellowish) or those with darker tones will need 2 to 3 swipes depending on the desired intensity.

Texture wise is quite smooth. Not too shabby for something that’s for drugstore.

The blusher also contains subtle shimmers that gives a light glow, which I quite like. For those with oily skin, I think it’s still okay to use it, it won’t make you look even oilier, because I am also a combi to oily skin person.

The brush that comes with it is quite soft, but I’m used to using my own blusher brush so I find it not so nice to use because it’s small. But for touch ups, it’s doing alright.

Oh, by the way, there’s another 3 more colours which I didn’t buy. One is 03 Sunny Orange, 04 Bronze Gold and another is 05. I can’t remember 05′s name, so sorry. 03 has beige colour for highlighter and a bright orange colour for blusher. Can’t buy this as it doesn’t suit my skin colour. I didn’t get 04 because I don’t quite like the bronze colour. It’s a bit too chocolatey for me, I prefer something with more of a goldish tone. 05 is similar to 03, except it’s blusher is a very sharp orange tone and with light orange for highlight. Not something that suits me so I didn’t buy it.

For it’s price in Malaysia, I would say it’s quite a nice investment for a sweet little blusher packed with a highlighter, especially if you don’t have much budget. But for those who prefer blushers with stronger pigments, this is definitely not for you.

  1. Hi 心。葵, I also have 01 and 02. 02is my HG blush and I’m hitting pan soon! That’s no mean feat as I own 30 blushes.

I love the subtle golden shimmer and the peachy pink colour. It really gives a very nice peachy pink glow! :) Love this. 06 looks really nice as well. I was contemplating to get this during the last sale but really held back as I have so many blushes at home already ;) Hehe.. Now seeing your post makes me lemming this again.

Oh wow! 30 pan of blushers! i don’t think i have that many~ and non of my blushers ever hit the pan at all! and i’ve given away quite a few to my sisters.

yeap! the colour is definitely pretty! me love it~ suits me just fine because it’s not a pure orange colour. :D i can’t wear orangey tones without pinks and reds in it.

it’s one the few little blushers i have in mind of buying again, cuz it’s pretty cheap and of course pretty! i hope they never dc this!

  5. i’m interested in 01 and 02!
But I’m kinda worried about the shimmers. Shimmers don’t work well with my round face :P

Canmake’s cosmetics have too much shimmer..

  6. Hi Connie!

The applicator is quite alright, but if you are used to using your own brush, then you will find this a little annoying. It's too small! >_<

But overall it's not too bad :)

  7. Morning Chian Li,

The shimmers ah, it’s not too bad. Will try to get a swatch done by this week :) The last 2 weeks of August are hectic!

and yes, their stuff are really shimmery :P I kinda like it if it enhances the overall look, but hate it if it made things worse.
