Elianto foundation brush, well, maybe it’s my technique, but I tend to get the streaky lines once a while. >_< It provides heavier coverage than #187, but I like the airbrush finish that #187 gives better. It's made out of synthetic hair, kinda firm but soft. I now use this to pat on cream blushers, NYX's one for now. I find it working quite well. But one thing to note though, use only this method for light colour or less pigmented cream blusher. I use this method with NYX Red Cheeks, and I ended up with really red cheeks! Maybe I applied too much. Will do another few more test. But to be safe, use this patting method with light or natural or sheer cream blushers. :)

Elianto powder brush is dense, soft but scratchy! Gah! Almost all Elianto face brushes are scratchy! Why? >_< I only used this once or twice and ditched it. Not recommended at all!

Arezia powder/ blush brush is slightly better than the Elianto one. It’s soft, but not as dense. But it is still a little scratchy. I’m not sure if this brush is meant for powder or blusher as I have thrown the packaging away. Not a recommended brush either.

Elianto fan brush. Sigh. Soft, but scratchy. Need I say more? Not recommended either. :(

Elianto’s concealer brush. It’s dense and pretty firm. It’s not a must have. I think using fingers to dab and blend the concealer is better than using a brush. The effect is better I feel.

That’s it for face brushes. Moving on the brushes specifically for the eyes! :D

A. Elianto eyeshadow brush
B. Elianto eyeshadow brush
C. Elianto angled eyeshadow/ eyeliner brush
D. Coastal Scents Chisel Detail Mini
E. Coastal Scents Italian Badger Round Crease
F. Sasa eyeshadow brush (big)
G. Sasa eyeshadow brush (small)

My first few eyeshadow brushes are from Elianto. And they have been used almost everytime I do my makeup.

I honestly don’t remember their exact names, because I have used them for like 2 or 3 years, and I have thrown away their packaging long time ago. >_<

I used A and B the most. A is a wide, kinda fluffy brush. It’s not very dense, but it’s soft! And not scratchy! If only the face brushes are the same… :( I like to use A to give my eyes an overall wash of colour. It packs on colour pretty well and blends quite well too. I think this is either the big or medium eyeshadow brush, but I have a strong feeling this is the medium sized one.

B is denser than A, though not as dense as IB Round Crease. But it is as soft and not scratchy just like A. I usually use this for my crease instead of the IB Round Crease, if I want a lighter wash of colour around my crease.

Both A and B are affordable, and I like them enough to use them almost everytime. They don’t shed or bleed even after going through numerous washes. Little tools that I love!

I don’t remember what is C, but it’s angled, so I suppose it’s a brush meant to line your eyes with powder shadows. I hardly use this, honestly. But it is soft and not scratchy. But one thing though, I personally find it not firm enough to draw a nice smooth line if I were to line my eyes with powder shadow. I would rather use this to put colour on my lower lashline. You can skip this.

One of my favourite brushes from CS! The Chisel Detail Mini which goes OOS almost everytime! It is so TINY! Which makes it the perfect brush to line my upper and lower lashlines! I have a rather tiny crease, so this is perfect to put colour on my crease. I also use this to apply highlighter around the inner corners of my eyes. Doing eye makeup has never been this easier with this Chisel Detail Mini. It’s pretty firm and dense. Did not shed nor bleed. And freaking CHEAP! Get this if you see it back on the racks on CS! A must buy!

E is another favourite of mine, the Italian Badger Round Crease. It’s dense and packs on colour well. I love to use this for my crease! Another must have! :D No bleeding or shedding.

F and G are the latest addition to the family of eyeshadow brushes. They are made out of synthetic hair. Very firm, but soft. I bought them because I wanted to use cream shadows with them. Brushes made out of natural hair won’t work well with cream shadows. I haven’t really tested them out, but I think they will work okay. It’s kinda cheap, so even if they don’t, I will just toss them and use my fingers instead. :)

H. Coastal Scents Black on Black Taklon Angle Liner
I. Art brush in 01
J. Coastal Scents White Angled Liner

Black on Black Taklon Angle Liner is a lovely brush. Quite stiff and firm. It is much easier to draw a smooth and straight line. Loving this! Am thinking of getting back ups! Hehe~

This art brush enables me to do a very thin line, but it is not stiff or firm enough, so to do a straight and smooth line is kinda difficult. Forget about using this brush if you can get the Black on Black Taklon Angle Liner.

I haven’t tested out the White Angled Liner, but I have a strong feeling I won’t like this as much as the Black on Black Angle Liner. It’s not as firm or stiff as I would like to be, and it’s a little long. I find that the shorter, the stiffer and the firmer the brush is, the easier it is to line the eyes with a straight and smooth line. It’s an unjustified opinion of mine on the brush, so I might be missing some of it good points :)

I do have a lip brush from Elianto, but I forget to take a picture of it, so I am leaving it out. There’s nothing fantastic about it, so it’s okay to forget about it. Hehe. :P

So yeap! There you have it, my collection of brushes!

I hope you have enjoyed the reviews ya! ^_^

What brushes do you have that you want to recommend or would like to share with me?

Do share with me!

  2. the synthetic eyeshadow brushes should work very well with cream eyeshadows. That's what I use for my cream shadows too. I don't mind using fingers to blend cream shadows but not to apply because the shadow will just stick on the fingers and not on the lid >.<

  3. Jenn: Not a lot la, but will do. Hehe~ Yeah, Elianto eye brushes are not too bad, but stay away from their face brushes lor~:)

Connie: I usually use my fingers to apply cream shadows, and they do just fine, but then I find it get oilier faster on the lid. Dunno izzit becuz my hands secrete oil also? :P

  4. Sue, me use a few a few, depending on how much time I have :P

If I’m rushing, one brush + finger does everything!

  5. I would say that it won’t be even enough. like not enough grip. kinda like foundation la. using fingers is fine but it won’t be as long lasting compared to using a brush.

  6. I have A and I have to say I’m quite pleased with the quality. It doesn’t shed, is quite soft and does the job. Even better, it’s very cheap! :)
