Tada! Skinfood Snow Tea Eye Serum!

One fine day I looked into the mirror, looking at every bits and details on my face, to the point I can count the number of moles on my face (I really counted!), I noticed my dark circles and fine lines were getting more and more prominent. I guess that’s natural since I am getting older and I haven’t done much good to my eyes either.

So I was on the lookout for an eyecream which can help to get rid of my dark circles and moisturize my eyes at the same time. But I don’t want to break my bank, since skincare is something which is really funny, which to some it’s HG material, and to others, just meh or so-so.

After chatting with dear Kim, I decided to get Skinfood’s Snow Tea Eye Serum. A few reasons that made me bought this.

  1. It’s affordable. RM44 for 20ml, easily available, I don’t feel the pain if it doesn’t work for me.
  2. Kim says it does help to diminish dark circles.
  3. The word “Snow Tea” made me think of snowy white skin around my eyes area =_=. Lame I know.

The packaging is pretty cute. :D I like pretty stuff. Who doesn’t?

Cute little angel surrounded by swirly motifs.

Comes in a pump bottle.

Not leaky or anything. And what I like best is that you know how fast you are using the product. The bottle isn’t opaque, which means you can check what’s the amount left inside the bottle before you buy another one.

Scent wise is pretty mild, and smells good. It smell a little like rice. Maybe my nose is weird. But hey, I don’t know what snow tea smells like! Maybe it smells like rice? LOL. Confusing.

The texture is cream, but it isn’t heavy, I feel it’s a bit of a cream plus a bit of liquid. It’s really lightweight.

And I only need a pea size amount for both eyes! It’s gonna last me long time!

Whatever it is, I am very happy with this.

Not only it smells nice, but it works! :D

I notice I have lighter dark circles (still not gone completely), skin under my eyes aren’t as dry but they still need more TLC and moisture, and no millia seeds or anything weird!

I don’t have any before and after pictures, so you will have to trust me when I said it worked on me. LOL.

Oh, I also dab a bit of Avon Eye Perfector With Peptides under my eyes after I apply Skinfood’s eye cream, just to make sure my eyes are well moisturized. Skinfood’s eye cream alone isn’t enough moisturizing for my eyes, I feel. The peptides in Avon’s eye cream helps to reduce the fine lines and wrinkles, and helps to moisturize the eye area too :)

Just for your information, I massage my eyes as well when I apply both of my eye creams.

Here’s how I do it.

I forgot to take a picture of my nude eyes and draw a diagram using Photoshop, so uh, I used the eye picture from my Summer Sunset FOTD and use Paint to draw the 2 hideous arrows. :P

  1. Dab a little bit of eye cream under your eyes and on your eyelids. I use Skinfood’s eye cream.
  2. Gently glide your fingers starting from the outer corner of the eyes as illustrated by the maroon arrow, gently massage your eyes until you do a complete circle. Repeat 2 to 3 times.
  3. Then, again starting from the outer corner of the eyes illustrated by the blue arrow, you gently tap your fingers under your eyes and the bony part of your eyes (this is your eyebrow area), doing a full circle. Repeat 2 to 3 times.
  4. Once step 2 & 3 is done, I gently tap some of Avon’s eye cream under my eyes.
  5. Then I warm my palms and gently place them over my eyes for about 10 to 15 seconds.

And believe me, my eyes look much brighter whenever I massage them. I guess that’s because blood circulation has improved and the eye cream are fully absorbed into the skin.

So what’s your eye cream? Any good recommendations?

Share them with me! ^_^

Elyn: No problem. As long as your eyes dun have fine lines or dark circles, den can dy la! :P

Eliz: Oh dear, I guess it’s too rich for you? I think skincare needs to be used for quite some time, say 1 to 2 months, before knowing the effect, though some takes only like a week or so to see the diff :)

Shuu: thanks dear! Nivea works ya? Maybe I’ll take a look next time :)

  4. so envious this works for you, it does nothing for me though, but it smells so heavenly!

i feel ‘guilty’ chucking it aside, so i relegated it as a face moisturiser, but i am so used to using ‘actual’ moisturiser that i kept forgetting about its existence although it is just right next to the bottles! lol.

Cacao: LOL! I chuck my Avon just beside my Skinfood and not using it too!

Lynn: it’s pretty cheap, try it!

Cyndi: Usually dark circles are hard to get rid of, but it’s much easier to hydrate your eyes lor :)

  8. Hi there!

Am wondering where you bought the Avon eye cream? Can’t seem to find any Avon outlets around me.
Either that or I’m pretty oblivious to the surroundings. Hee~

I’ve used the Skinfood one before, and it gave me milia seeds unfortunately, but that was a long long time ago, maybe my skin’s changed? =D
I likee the smell though so I might try it again =D

Hi Evie, I bought the Avon eyecream at an outlet near my house in Kelana Jaya :) It’s near to the Giant facing the LDP. hehe.

Different skin reacts differently to the products, so I am not sure whether if you use this again would it give you milia seeds or not. But it’s okay to give it a try if you think your skin will be able to take this without giving you anymore problems :)

  9. Heloo!

    Thanks for the reply. =)
When you say outlet near Giant, it’s the huge Giant right?
So it’s inside Giant or the shops near it?
    Hee~

Evie: It’s the shops near it, try seach for the one around CIMB or the Public Bank, it’s those 2 rows there :) There’s a mini mart nearby too :)

  10. I used to have puffy dry skin under my eyes…very sensitive. I’ve used other under eye creams and end up irritating my eyes, since most contain alchohol and other chemicals. What solved my problems was the Made from Earth Olive Night Creme. I tried over night and the next morning felt refreshed. My under eye area was soft, moisturized and HYDRATED. I use it once or twice a week.

I’ve been using it for quite a while now and I’ve seen a dramatic difference. I found that by applying it and then laying down – I kid you not, you’ll see better and immediate results if you do it that way and look great!

I’m completely sold on the Olive Night Creme (from Made from Earth) and am stocked for the next 3 months :)
