Lousy title, I know.
But that’s exactly what I want to talk about today.
Look at the yuckiest picture I’ve ever shown!
Scaly, cracky and dry. Scary huh? I took this picture after I got home from work today.
But this isn’t the my worst heel condition. When I started my internship last year in January, after 2 weeks of working and wearing 1/2 inch heels, my heel started to dry out so badly that it actually BLEED.
BLOOD. Fresh blood oozing from my heels! And I didn’t even know I was bleeding until my colleague gave me a piece of tissue and plaster and I gave her a puzzled look. Then only I knew. =_=. Talk about blurness.
From then on, I went nuts over lotions and creams, hence the countless tubs of body butter and body lotions. Hoho. Good idea to go nutty!
So yeah, what’s my point?
My point is, take care of your feet! It’s that easy!
A little quote from Boys Over Flowers *which has ended and I don’t see my darling HJ anymore
*
A good pair of shoes will bring you to the best places in the world.
My take?
A well taken care feet brings you to the best places in the world!
Without your feet, you don’t get to wear the best shoes and go to the best places in the world. I guess you understand what I mean aye?
So, with a little extra TLC, and with a good pair of shoes, yes, you can go to the best places in the world!
Uh, I went a little wild.
Here comes the review!
A light blue which is oh-so-pretty. I like blues too! Other than a myriad of colours like pinks and reds.
The foot file is shaped like a spoon, which makes it a little curved so it’s a little easier to get rid of the dead skin cells from the heels, according to The BodyShop.. I used the flat ones before, to me it doesn’t make much difference, so it’s up to the individual’s preference.
As you can see, the flat side is the coarser side which removes hard skin while the dome shaped area is smoother which gently exfoliates and massages the feet. So use the coarse side first before using the smoother side. And please work with wet/ damp feet! I find that foot files that requires dry feet are slightly harsher than using it on wet feet. Maybe it’s just me.
After using this, you must not forget to properly moisturize your feet! It’s a must! The same rule applies to your face too! You never exfoliate your face and then not putting back some moisture into your skin right?
And now introducing Steam Cream!
Izzy was raving about this a while back, saying it’s great for dry skin. She does have dry skin during the winter, so it’s quite a must for her to keep her skin in good condition. Trusting my big sis *as she calls me lil sis fondly*, I had to grab this when I saw it was available for purchase.
And it comes in pretty designs! How to resist!
Stated as simple quality skincare, it’s a moisturizer for face, body and hands, and it is suitable for ALL skin types.
Can something like that be an all-in-one?
To me, I have to say no.
The texture is creamy. Slightly more runny than cream, but not as thin as lotions. A little like the new range of The BodyShop’s body butter, think of Moroccan Rose and Cherry Blossom body butter. It’s lightly scented, but nothing too strong.
However, it is way too oily for my face. Even a small dollop made my skin become shiny. Ugh. Way too heavy. My skin felt like it wasn’t getting enough oxygen. I nearly kill myself having this cream on my face!
Then I tried it on my arms. Oily. Sticky. Enough said. This is worse than TBS’s body butter.
Then my legs. It’s much better on my legs, not as oily. Maybe my legs are drier?
And then my heels! My god, the moment I slab some on, my heels said “I LOVE YOU”!
It absorbs real fast, it wasn’t oily and it wasn’t sticky! Best of all, my feet remains soft till the very next day! Quite moisturized too, although the cracks are still rather visible, but ain’t as bad! My heels was already on it’s TBS Spoon Foot File and Steam Cream treatment in the first picture I posted, though still dry and scaly, but much better than the time it bleed and crack like crazy.
My heels are pretty soft now, and not so dry. Before I started this routine, my feet showed it’s ugly side to me each time I step into the shower, with the sides all cracking and skin peeling, and ever since I started the routine, not anymore! Yay to soft and smooth *kinda* heels.
Here’s the transformation!
Not too bad right?
Ingredient list: Oatmeal infusion (Avena sativa), Orange Flower Water (Citrus Aurantium amara, Aqua), Almond Oil, Cocoa butter, Glycerine, Stearic Acid, Triethanolamine, Organic Jojoba Oil, Lavender Oil, Chamomile Blue Oil, Orange Blossom Absolute, Rose Absolute, Neroli Oil, Cetyl Stearyl Alcohol, *Coumarin, *Geraniol, *Citronell, *Limone, *Linalool, Perfume, Menthylparaben, Propylparaben
Fuh… That’s a whole lot of oils and goodies!
One thing to note, though the packaging is pretty, since it’s made of steel/iron/aluminium or whatever metal it is, it’s very prone to dents! My Papillion got dents
Not because I did not store them well, but because it arrived like that.
And it’s leaky. I transferred the whole tin of cream into another jar. *shrugs*
I don’t know if I want to recommend the Steam Cream, but if you have the cash to splurge and you have really dry skin, I think that’s okay. I bought it for RM77 from Gonzalesgirls, while the Spoon Foot File is RM19.90 in TBS stores. Honestly, I think both items combined are really a pampering treat for the often neglected feet!
Have fun in pampering your feet!
Remember, love yourself from top to toe!

Hello my fellow cracked heel sufferer! lol!!
Glad to hear that you’ve found a solution for your cracked heels! May them nasties begone forever!
ps: your TBS file is nicer than mine!! Hrmph! hehehe!

so true, my feet looks like that too and I told myself I really have to take care of myself from top to bottom, yes, including the feet, I try not to have a lot of foot scrubs as it really aggravates my feet, I do scrubs but just gentle ones like the one you used but in lesser pressure, I do wrap my feet with socks with foot lotion at night
it does help

my heel also something like that! due to the heels and long exposure to the air i suppose? and long neglection. eheheh and i found that normal body lotion is simply not enough for the thirsty heel. and guess what, i went for a foot bath once and omg, my feet became so so so smooth n silky instantly! and the radiance lasted for few days, finally, my heels are back to dry again
