ZA Cleansemax Double Cleansing Gel
I was talking about ZA Cleansing Oil, Cyber Colours Makeup Remover, Elianto Makeup Remover and Maybelline Makeup Remover quite some time back when Chian Li mention about this cleansing gel.
And I totally forgot its existence because I didn’t quite like this. In fact, I think I hate it.
It’s gel, and it’s bluish-green colour. Scent wise is so so, smells a bit plastic or somewhat. I don’t fancy that.
Ugh. The smell puts me off. But then again, I don’t judge something with it’s smell. So I did used it.
I had full makeup on – makeup base, foundation, powder, blusher, mascara (waterproof), lippie, eyeshadows, eyeliners (waterproof) and it removes everything quite cleanly. Well, except for mascaras, because I don’t use mascaras that are not waterproof and smudgeproof mascaras are usually difficult to remove, that is why I give the responsibility of removing tough mascaras to my trusty Elianto and Maybelline Makeup Remover.
Having said that, it removes all other traces of makeup wonderfully well. Yes, it’s on par with ZA Cleansing Oil, so why hate it? The reason as below.
1. I have to do double cleansing AFTER using this.
2. It’s very oily and yucky when I use water to rinse off all the dissolved makeup. And I thought gel cleansers should leave a clean feeling.
3. I hate the smell.
Enough said.
So I stick to ZA Cleansing Oil. Oh, this cleansing gel was my first. And definitely my last.
Unless they change or improve the formula. Otherwise, no way am I using it again.

thanks for the review! sorry it doesn’t work for you!

Hi Nikki!
Too bad it didn’t turn out like what I wanted. But it’s okay~ I have more stuff to experiment on then!

Hi Plue, I’m in my second bottle of using this and I’m loving it! I reserve it for days when I’m on light makeup.
Maybe u can try another way of using this. The ZA SA said to wipe off the gel with a piece of tissue paper before washing your face with water. According to the SA, it can also be used without water(tissue-off) as well. I personally tried tissue off only as well and it didn’t caused me to breakout.
I bring a mini bottle of this when I go out cos I’m testing makeup on my hand when I’m out shopping. So it’s very convenient to just squeeze out a small amount and tissue off.
Other times, I use it to wipe off any concealer residue on my hands and fingers after my makeup application. U see, I usually squeeze a small amount of liquid concealer or liq foundie on my hand to warm up before application. Than I usually use my fingers to spread out and blend concealor, so this acts as a convenient makeup wipe for me

Hi Gracie!
Thanks for the tip, I’ve actually tried it before. But I still find it not clean enough, like there’s something on the face. Maybe it’s just me.
But hm… I also put LF or concealer on the back of my hands before application. I think I will use this for cleaning off the residue! Much better than using cleansing wipes or tissue!
Thankiez!!
