Hm, I think I’ve only used this once? Or twice?

Why did it ever went into the Cold Chamber?

I gave it a good shake, squirt some onto my hand and…

To my horror! Look at this!

Orange to the max! And it’s sooooo dark!!

I don’t care how luminous this foundation is or how featherly like the texture is, but this is so orange-y that it is IMPOSSIBLE to blend in perfectly with my skin which would look invisible.

Say hello to the trash bin, you orange foundie!

Have you girls got an orange foundation too? Tee hee!

Maybelline? Rimmel? Loreal? (Is Loreal that cheap?) Kate? Majolica Majorca (I know of glosses, but lipsticks?)

In my opinion, nothing beats Avon, for now at least. I am being very honest right here. So far, all my lippies from Avon has been nothing but fantastic! Be it the Cynthia Rowley ones, or the Ultra Moisturizing ones (oops! haven’t review them!) or the ones I will be reviewing right now!

Avon Glazewear Lipstick

I love the sleek and polish packaging, although fingerprints are sure to be everywhere on it! Haha! It gives such a classy feel to it, don’t you think? A plus point already for pretty (though not very practical) packaging!

Here’s what Avon promised about this lipstick.

Get the colour of a lipstick with the shine of a gloss! Avon’s revolutionary lipstick combines the shine of a lipgloss with the luscious colour of a lipstick. This lightweight formula glides on effortlessly for full, glossy colour that feels incredible on lips. No sticky feel, just smooth, silky lips.

How many yays or nays?

1. Shine of a gloss – yay!
2. Luscious colour of a lipstick – nay
3. Lightweight formula – yay!
4. Full, glossy colour – yay and nay, in between.
5. No sticky feel – yay!
6. Smooth, silky lips – yay!

It does everything except number 2. The colour is pretty sheer. Maybe I have pigmented lips, so it doesn’t show. But even swatching on my hand, the colours are pretty light. My camera couldn’t catch the colours no matter how I tweak the setting >_<, and that also I have layer the colours 3 times each just for the swatches. Sigh.

However, other than that, everything’s lovely!

I bought 3 colours out of the 5 or 6 colours they have. It was so hard to choose! I settled for these 3. Coral Goddess may look orange or coral tone like, but when swatched and on lips, it’s a peach pink colour. Rhinestone Rose is a cool rose pink colour, while Pink Diamond is a lighter version of Coral Goddess. No shimmer, but it just goes on glossy. I quite like it. In fact, it reminds me of Revlon’s Super Lustrous Shiny Sheers (I love them! totally!)

And what draw me to buying this? The price!

Selling at RM12 till 15th May, it’s a steal! Go grab it! But even if you miss the sales, the price isn’t horribly high, I think it’s around rm20 or so. For a nice lippie, I don’t mind purchasing at a slightly higher price.

Now, should I get the other colours?

Makeup to the rescue!

30 minutes later…

i looked much better, but why do i still look blank? 

Complexion is much more even, fresher looking, but uh, I think my dark circles are horrible! Oh wait, did I pat concealer under my eyes? Or is it the lighting? Because my other pictures sure don’t show it that badly! >_<>

I love the sunlight! The natural lighting just make picture taking a breeze!

The colours are rather accurate, I don’t need flash, it doesn’t wash me out, and I actually look so much prettier! *ahem ahem* Ignore that.

And my new love is Kate Deep Trap Eyes in BR-2! It’s just lovely! Good for day and night! Pictures taken are for the day look. For the night look which I didn’t take a picture of, I simply just used the crease colour and line my lower lash line with it. And a simple smokey eye is done! And the best part, I didn’t need black colour to do the smokey eye! The green is just gorgeous! The best thing, it didn’t crease or fade much! I love it! By the way, out of the 5 colours, I used only 3 colours. Shall review this palette soon! It’s just so PRETTY!

Okay, I lied when I said I am not writing much

Kate foundation is lightweight and offers rather good coverage, and it does brighten up the face! The Avon concealer is creamy and easy to blend, coverage is quite okay too.

I used Red Cheeks for the day and Glow for the night. Reason is being my eye makeup for the day is very simple and natural so I want a rosy glow, while for the night my eyes are stronger and I amplified my lips with a touch of Plum Orchid on top of Rimmel’s lipstick, so I wanted a more natural colour on the cheeks. I can’t be putting on heavy makeup on eyes, lips and cheeks, can I? That would be what we call makeup disaster! LOL!

This particular Rimmel lipstick that I use is not that moisturizing, or maybe it’s because my lips are so dry and chappy, so it looks a little awful. So I used my trusty Shu Uemura lip serum to smoothen and moisturize my lips and voila!, the lipstick stays on better and no more ugly flaky lips! The colour is a pretty pinky-red on me, which is quite natural and it makes me look fresh!

I will always want to do FOTDs in the mornings! Because that’s when pictures taken during that time are the most accurate and also requires least work to edit!

And honestly, I love the pictures taken this time! What say you girls?

Eyes

Eye primer/ base: Urban Decay Primer Potion, Too Faced Shadow Insurance

Why: They really do what they claim to do! Downside: A little expensive and not available in Malaysia.

Single eyeshadow: Majolica Majorca

Why: Pigmented and smooth. Better quality than the palettes IMO.

Eyeshadow palette: Kate Deep Trap Eyes, Shu Uemura Midnight Sakura from Mika Holiday 2008 Collection

Why: Gorgeous colours! And definitely worth the money!

Gel liner: Coastal Scents gel liners, Shiseido Maquillage gel liners

Why: Smooth, creamy, hardly budge. Maquillage is easily available here, but not CS.

Pencil eyeliner: Secret pencil eyeliner, Silkygirl Funky Eye Lights

Why: Secret is cheap and the black is dark enough, though it smudges a little. Silkygirl comes in a lot of fun colours and are easy to use! Cheap too!

Mascara base: Kate

Mascara: Majolica Majorca Lash Expander Neo, Kiss Me Heroine Make mascaras, ZA Cutie Curl(Long Lash)

Why: MJ is well known for it’s mascara, need I say more?

Lips

Lipstick: Avon Ultra Moisture Rich

Why: Smooth, creamy, pigmented! And cheap!

Lipgloss: Cynthia Rowley for Avon LE lipgloss, Majolica Majorca Honey Pump Gloss, Rimmel Vinyl Stars/ Vinyl lipgloss, Rimmel Shock lipgloss

Why: Rimmel lipglosses are quite cheap and not sticky. Has quite a sweet smell. The colours are lovely too.

I LOVE this lipgloss!

Really! It’s cheap, smooth, not sticky, and goes on lovely!

Instead of a doe foot sponge applicator, these came in brush tip. Looks kinda like Stila Lip Glaze’s applicator. One little thing to note though, the applicator splays a little, but it doesn’t affect much. What I do this I snip the splayed part off, and it’s good to use!

Plum Orchid is a blue-toned purple, Rose Petal is rosey-tone milky pink, and Peony Pink, a light sweet pink.

Swatches of the 3 colours…

Look at these, it’s really pigmented. One swipe and you see colour, it’s very obvious with the Plum Orchid, since it’s the darkest among three. Peony Pink is the lightest, but yet it shows a good amount of colour.

All 3 colours don’t have any shimmer. It’s not matte, it’s shiny. It gives you lips that’s smooth, moist and plump! And it’s not sticky! It doesn’t dry out the lips too! I wore Peony Pink yesterday, and to my delight, even without a balm underneath, it goes on smooth and pretty! Ah! Lovely!

It lasted on me about 2 1/2 hours, I took a few sips of water in between. The shine was gone, but slight colour remains. I am not too fussy about the staying power, because I don’t mind touching up at all! If I don’t, when will I ever finish my 123456789 of lipglosses and lipsticks?

This little gem is only available in Avon outlets, and as the name implies, it’s a Limited Edition item. Go grab it before it’s gone! I want to go buy a few more too!

And they have the lipstick version too! Maybe I should get those too? Avon lipsticks are quite nice generally *prays Connie don’t whack me*

The colours are pretty pigmented and smooth. Not chalky. A little gritty, but it’s acceptable. I like this palette a lot!

Swatches:

I love the Avon lipstick! It’s smooth and creamy! It’s a blue tone rose red, which contains gold shimmers in it which is so pretty! Ah~ I love this shade! Perfect for a girl’s night out!

It’s pretty pigmented, so I use a lip brush to swipe it on my lips

The CS gel liner is creamy! I like it! ^_^ The colour looks like a dark blue in the pot, but in real life, on my hands and eyes, it’s leaning a little towards a purplish blue. Very very pretty if you ask me

And as for Kate, my favourite shade is D. The blue is really nice, and as a base, team up with the CS liner, it’s a nice simple eye makeup! Ah!

How do you like my smokey blue eye look?

Hideous? I myself think the look is not very pretty.

Sigh. Need to buck up on my skills!

Avon Eye Perfector with Peptides 

I like love this stuff!

Not only it’s cheap, it’s functional!

It’s orange gel like, which is light weighted and easily absorb by the skin. Just a light tap on the eye and you are done. It’s not sticky, as long as you don’t use too much. Common sense right?

Anyway, it moisturizes the skin just fine. But I won’t suggest this to people who have very dry skin around the eye area, as it is gel like, I doubt it’s strong enough for dry skin.

After doing a little research, peptides is actually a combination of amino acids. Amino acids are the basic structural building units of proteins. In short, peptides are simple proteins.

Proteins repairs our cell, that’s common knowledge. So when it is incorporated into our dear eye gel here, does it mean it helps to repair our skin cells around the eye area too? I would very much like to agree, but I can’t quite say so myself, as I don’t have much of a skin or eye problem to begin with. But then again, a little extra protein to feed our eyes is not too much a problem right?

While this eye gel did not state anything about skin cells renewal, but it did promised to reduce eye puffiness and to brighten the eye area.

I don’t have eyebags or eye puffiness, but I do have very slight dark circles. And this product, well, it did reduce my dark circles after using it day and night for about 3 weeks. My sister and the bf notice the difference too!

And it did not break me out or having any millia seeds around my eye area.

The best part, it’s cheap! Tralalalalalalala~~~

From 16 October till 30th October, the price is retailing at RM12.90 (if I am not mistaken) at all Avon outlets in Malaysia! Gonna go grab one as a backup and also for my sister! You can’t get good eye cream with this price! Wheee!!!!!!!!

Because I have too many new stuff to play with and I haven’t got enough time nor face to do it!

I’ve only got a pair of eyes, a pair of cheeks and a lip. My amount of eyeshadows, mascaras, lipsticks, lipglosses and blushers. How the heck am I gonna finish all of them before expiry date?

But still, it won’t stop me from buying more!

On to the review!

Avon Mousse Blusher in Apricot Flush

Please ignore my ugly veins and somewhat near-to-the-surface capillaries. It’s in the genes, can’t do anything. T_T

So, I tested this blusher quite a few times, and overall I am quite happy with.

It’s smooth, moist and feels very fluffy. It’s really light weighted, it’s like whipped cream, albeit a little heavier. And it’s quite pigmented.

The blusher’s name is Apricot Flush, but it’s nowhere near being apricot at all. Yeah, sure, the catalogue is peachy-apricot in colour, but in real life it sports a brownish rose tone colour which is bit lighter than you see in both pictures. It gives the cheeks it gives a natural rosy finish. It’s matte, so I think those with pore problems should do fine with it. Recently I like my blushers to be matte than shimmery. And I think this colour would be flattering on all skintones, except for those who are very fair, might need lesser products to create a sheer finish.

I can’t say much about the staying power as I did not wear this on for a full day, but I think it can stay on for a good 3 to 4 hours. I use approximately 2 swipes per cheek. You can check on how it looks like on me in my FOTD.

It’s quite tiny in size, comparable to Kate’s gel liner actually. If you put Maybelline’s mousse blusher, you’d say Maybelline is a giant! The only gripe I have: Girls with long fingernails will have slight problem with this. The blusher gets stuck to your nails. Well, all cream products get stuck anyway. So I’m not bothered.

This was on sale when I bought it, cost me lesser than RM20. And for the price I pay, I’m really happy with it!

And because it was raining heavily just now, so I did a super simple + quick FOTD.

Image quality isn’t very good and I suck at taking pictures, so please bear with me okay? And please, ignore the bushy brows! I don’t know how to do them! >_<

Avon Mousse Eyeshadow in Smooth Peach – Very sheer. Colour can be hardly seen even though layer a few times. Creamy and smooth. Easy to blend. No creasing.

Avon Mousse Eyeshadow in Velvet Taupe - Pigmentation is better than Smooth Peach. Creamy and smooth. Easy to blend. No creasing.

Avon True Luminous Liquid Foundation in Beige Ochre – matches my skintone quite well, coverage sheer to medium. Not drying. Easy to blend.

Majolica Majorca Lash Expander Neo – Lenghtens very well! Did not make my lashes droopy. It seems like it volumizes a little too. Not clumpy.

MAD Indelible Waterproof Gel Line in Marcasite – a beautiful grayish blue with slight hint of shimmer. Waterproof. A little dry but still okay.

Urban Decay 24/7 Concealer in CIA - colour a little too light, but blendable. Feels a little creamy

ELF Super Glossy Lip Shine SPF15 in Watermelon – Good pigmentation, not sticky, looks natural on the lips.

The one with flash shows the colour better, I think. Oh silly me, I forgot to actually tell you guys what’s what!

The slim bottle is Avon True Luminous Liquid Foundation, next to it is Avon Mousse Eyeshadow in Smooth Peach, Silken Sand and Velvet Taupe. And I got Ultra Moisture Rich Lipstick in Pale Rose for free! I wanted to get Avon Mousse Foundation since MUA has got good reviews, tested it on my jaw, it’s quite okay, but when applied on the cheeks, it’s cakey and enhances my pores. And everyone wants to hide their pores.

I reckon the mousse eyeshadow will be the same texture as the mousse blusher I bought last week. I tested the blusher and I am quite happy with it Shall post the review soon ya!

And my 24/7 concealer is a bit crooked, but I think it should be fine. Not that it’s broken or anything And I need to test out Urban Decay Primer Potion. Hm… should I wait till I get Too Faced Shadow Insurance and put to a contest?

Should I even get Too Faced Shadow Insurance? Or UDPP will do? Any ideas? Let me know!

And before I end this post, I have to tell you guys something.

I went to Watsons yesterday again after work. Yes yes, I wanted to buy more Shadow Customize. But when I got there, there was no one attending. So I asked another lady.

me: hi, i want to buy some Majolica stuff.
lady A: i’m not in charge of this counter.
me: is there anyone else?
lady A: she went back dy la~ and the counter all lock.
me: er… okay.

I turned my back leaving. Isn’t it weird? It’s only 7pm, and there are so many people around! How come only one SA for MJ? Others cannot sell Majolica Majorca? So weird!

And the best part…

The lady-look-a-like guy said “Come again tomorrow la! Earlier a bit okay!”
