Sorry for the long absence, enjoying myself like a squirrel eating lots and lotsa free nuts like there’s no tomorrow. *oops, i sound weird here*

Am reviewing a product I have actually used quite a fair bit and time to give it a review. Well, lotsa products I should be reviewing, but uh, let’s just say, I don’t feel like writing them… yet.

I noticed there isn’t a lot of reviews for this particular concealer and there isn’t a lot of good swatches around either. But I maybe mistaken, since I have not search much on it ever since I placed an order with Ryan aka SgDrugstore in LYN like a couple of months back.

I was first introduced to this concealer by Chris and she told me it’s good. Trusting her (she’s a MUA okay!), I decided to placed an order. She’s an N30, and told me Light would be the right colour for me since at that time, MAC MA told me I am NC30 (which I think it’s just bullshit right now), I promptly placed an order for Light. And because I had extra $$ to spend, I bought Fair too!

And in the end, well, I am not an NC30 and Light didn’t suit me as much as I thought it would and so, Light went to Chris. I forgot to take a picture of it or swatched it before selling it to Chris. But it’s a salmon-y peach colour, very different than Fair.

Taken from ELF’s website.

It’s a beige-y yellow, which looks a bit like my EDM Matte Foundation in Light. It is a little dry, but hm, a few quick draws on my hands soften it and becomes slightly creamier and easier to blend in. It does conceal pretty well for freckles and pimples. It does cancel the redness too!

Here’s proof!

See how the redness is gone? I only dab a wee bit on the pimple, blend it in, and voila! Done! It does a better job in concealing pimples IF your pimple is headless, in my opinion. But nevertheless, it does a pretty amazing job ya?

Comes with a cap which doubles as a sharpener and also a built in synthetic brush. The brush is dense enough and it does help in blending the concealer, but I always go back to using my fingers and placed it over the spot that I have concealed with the concealer and brush, so that the warmth from my fingers would blend it in better. Nothing beats the fingers!

I do like this concealer very much since it’s travel-friendly and does the job well, but I think it’s rather dry for the under eyes. Not creamy enough. I think I like liquid or cream better for my eyes. But for pimples, this is quite good

It’s available in 3 colours, Fair, Light & Medium. Sold for USD3 or RM15/16 if you purchase it from Ryan aka SgDrugstore.

Sorry ladies, been procrastinating a bit lately.

Ahaha. Some changes happened in life, so been doing some coping up.

I have this principle where I test 1 product at a time, usually for skincare, body stuff, foundations, makeup bases and concealers. It takes about 1 to 2 months of monitoring from me, as my skin have a mind of it own. Sometimes perfect, sometimes dry sometimes oily. You get my drift don’t you? Colour products I review them much faster, since they are not so problematic for me.

Okay. Now you know.

Here’s the review for another mineral product, this time a concealer!

Love your spots, define new contours, show it all off, it’s your skin and it’s beautiful.
Mica, Titanium Dioxide, Zinc Oxide, Iron Oxides, Ultramarines

Multi-Tasking Concealer
is a universally wearable shade of beige that works to cover your blemishes, reduce redness, and highlight your best assets. Truly a wonderful concealer to have in your makeup kit!

Multi-Tasking is recommended for Light to Light Medium skintones.

Taken from Lovingminerals.com

Yes, it’s beig-y alright, but I notice it has a very faint pink undertone in it. Don’t believe it? See this.

Can you see the pinky undertone right now?It is very very light, but still, just a wee bit of pink in it. Not that I am bothered with it, as I find this works rather well for my dark circles.

I think you are able to see the difference right? With and without the concealer.

A closer view…

Discolouration gone and it becomes very much evened tone. It doesn’t conceal 100%, but it fixes the discolouration very well and make me look much fresher.

The texture of the concealer is the same like EDM Matte Foundation in Light, finely milled and very nice to blend in. But I do notice I need to watch out the amount I use, because if I use too much, it’ll be a little cakey and gives a whitish cast which isn’t what I fancy. Sometimes, if my undereyes is very dry, it does sink into the fine lines too So, I avoid using this when the skin around my eyes is dry. Liquid concealers are a much better option for me for days like that.

It’s retailing in Lovingminerals.com for RM32 for 5.5gm in a 25gm jar.

I’ll need to introduce you to my EDM baby kabuki too!

It’s very small in size, so it’s really cute! It fits well for my rather small palms (I think I have small hands), and I use this to apply and blend the concealer.

This would be nice to apply mineral foundations too because it’s small, and it’s easier to get into those nooks and crannies

And did I mention how soft and dense and lovely this brush is?

On a side note, I would be very much happier if this brush is smaller and more precise if it were to be use a concealer brush for the eye area alone, as this one now is a little too big than what I like for the purpose that I use it for.

It used to be sold on Lovingminerals.com for RM30 (I can’t remember the exact price, but it’s around there), but I haven’t seen it a long time already. Perhaps it has been discontinued? Am not sure. But it’s not a must have brush, just that it’s nice to own it if you love buying brushes (like me!)

No internet connection at home = no blogging.

Can’t upload my pictures. Can’t chat. Can’t check on my shipping status. Grrrr! Angry!

So what I can do is use my lunch hour and write my blog with whatever pictures and swatches I’ve placed into Photobucket before Internet went down at home. And pray that the line is smooth enough to do everything that I want to do. You know, sometimes the Internet in the office twice the suckiness than the one at home!

Enough of my babblings.

On to the review.

I have been using this every now and then and had done the swatches and everything and written down my thoughts about it in a notebook but I keep forgetting to post a proper review of this!

So am digging this out and giving it a proper introduction

Familiar?

Yeap! Inuovi Undercover Under-eye Dark Circle Concealer in 3Y.

It’s a light beige-y yellow with some slight peach undertone. Suits my undereyes rather well, especially after a wee bit of oxidization.

The coverage, I’d say medium and you can layer it on a little bit more if you like. However, it does tend to sink into a wee bit of my fine lines if I put it on a little too much. It does oxidize on me a little, which most of my foundation and concealer does (bad bad oily skin!), but it doesn’t look very bad on me even after oxidization. It looks even more natural after it! Some just turn ashy or greyish or just plain weird on me, but not for this!

Texture wise it is really lightweight and kinda runny than creamy. I like it very much because it is pretty easy to blend. I usually just put a little on the back on my hands, warm it up a little, and pat pat pat all over the eyes. Done! However, this concealer does crease on your eyelids if you have oily lids like mine. I have discolourations on my upper eyelids so I do use a bit of concealer on top.

It does last pretty okay, about 5 hours or so. I wore this from about 7.30am till 1pm, sitting in an air-conditioned office with minimal interaction with the hot and humid weather outside. After the 1 pm mark, it does fades quite a bit, maybe due to me rubbing my eyes (bad habit!) and held up till about 7 or 8 pm when I get back home and remove my makeup.

The only gripe I have with this is the dispensing of the product. Yeah it comes with a nozzle tip in a squeeze tube and it is hygienic and practical, but is that so? More often than not, I have to watch on how much pressure I apply to make sure I don’t squeeze out too much product because I only need very very little of it! >_< I don’t want to waste!

All in all, this is a decent concealer and I think this would suit those with drier skin than mine Retailing at approx RM60 in all Inuovi stores, try to grab it when you see it selling for 40% off! That’s how I got mine

Here comes a review on Shills’ Concealer set!

The black box that came with both concealer and highlighter were squished and squashed till it lost all the prettiness in it, ugh, hate that. Freaking post office. But then again, the seller didn’t really put much effort in wrapping anyway. *shrugs* 2 parties to be blamed I guess.

Anyway, back to the concealer and highlighter.

It’s a click and twist kind of a concealer and a highlighter, think Stila’s lipglaze. Twist twist clickety click click, twist twist clickety click. And concealer comes oozing out of the brush. Now, I really don’t want to associate everything that’s click and twist = Stila’s lipglaze , but that is SO STILA! It’s their trademark! Isn’t it?

Done with analyzing their physical apperance, time to go deeper. Ahem.

First of all, the colours. The concealer is known as the Flawless Pen (duh!) and highlighter, well, Luminous Pen. Flawless is a yellowy-peach while Luminous is a beige-ish pink. Both contains shimmer, but in a very subtle way.

You might not see the shimmer in this picture (the camera couldn’t capture it), but it gives a nice even glow to the skin. My sister who dislike anything shimmery on her face other than eyeshadows, said she loves the shimmer and the glow it gives!

Texture, it’s creamy. Not super creamy, but just nice to blend it in. It dries down to a dewy finish, since it has some shimmer in it. Coverage wise, I’d say it’s sheer to medium, and it’s buildable. Unless you have super dark circles or very bad blemishes, it does the job pretty well. And because it does have some shimmer particle in it, it gives a soft focus glow. Also, it doesn’t go cakey after a few layers like some other concealers, so that’s a plus point. I usually pat a bit of powder to set it, and it pretty much stays that way the whole day.

Oxidization is minimal and it doesn’t fade much, and it’s convenient to bring along in your bag for touchups. However, I do have my grumbles and mumbles. Hehe.

One. There is only one colour available for the concealer and highlighter!

Bleh. What if I am dark? I can’t possibly use this 2 without looking like I am wearing a mask or something, right? Or what if I am super fair and this is too dark for me? the ifs…

Two. Which I think most people might have thought about it too.

How many times do I need to twist it till the product comes out?

For my first 2 or 3 times of using this, I twist it countless times. Yawns. And when it does come out (unexpectedly!), a big blob comes out from the tip! Talk about wastage! But after that few times, things are better

If you notice, I focus pretty much on the concealer instead of the highlighter. I personally find that the highlighter is pretty decent, but nothing much that’s outstanding and yes, I can live without it. The highlighter is nothing much, just adding some shimmer and shine and highlights the face. I have lots of other highlighters that works, and I prefer powder highlighters better than liquid/ creams, so maybe, just maybe, I am a little biased about this particular highlighter.

If you are somewhat near my skintone (MAC NC25/30, EDM Matte foundie in Light, Kate Liquid Foundation in OC-C), you can give this a try. If you are very dark, skip this. Don’t think this will work for you. But if you are somewhat near my skintone and don’t own any concealers/ highlighters or are thinking of trying new ones, this is a pretty nice set. I got this set of concealer and highlighter for RM45 in Lowyat.net but the price might vary from seller to seller. Each pen contains 3g worth of product.

Is this a good buy? I’d say it is
