I have always adore a good scrub, and especially if it’s scented, just to relax the tired body and mind.

I am quite a bathing junkie. Loving all sorts of bathing stuff. If I have a bath tub, I foresee a mini spa everyday at home!

Oh oh, yeah, so a body scrub I bought not too long ago from a spree.

Heavenly Naturals Beauty Body Scrubs in Rose Dream and Japanese Cherry Blossom.

Comes in a sturdy plastic jar, nothing too fancy. It’s sealed with plastic wrapper all over.

I’ll be reviewing the Japanese Cherry Blossom only as I have not used the Rose Dream, but I reckon both would be the same in texture but with a different scent.

When I first received this in the package, I noticed that it leaks. Not really a lot, but it does. Whole jar oily. Very oily.

Looking at the ingredient list, finally I know why. I’m sucha slow poke.

Contains: Pure cane sugar, coconut oil, distilled water, almond oil, jojoba oil, vitamin E, *may contain fragrance, essential oils, fd & c colour

So yeah, no wonder it is that oily.

But I told myself, don’t judge a book by it’s cover. In this case, don’t judge a jar by it’s leakiness. Okay, bad english. FAILED.

When I open it up, a strong floral scent shot right up my nose. I do like florals, but it’s strong. But, weird, once my nose has gotten used to it, it’s pretty much okay. Oh well, sensitive nose be careful with this then. And the whole scrub is like immerse in a jar of liquid, like as though it has gone bad and separated itself, but don’t worry, that’s normal.

The scrubbing bits are like coarse sugar, which melts off when it comes in contact with water. However, this melts off much slower than Garnier’s body scrub. It’s a good thing, and also a bad thing, for me at least. Good thing is that my heels are often very dry and cracked, I could use this and gently scrub the area around my heels longer without worrying it dissolving too fast. Bad news is, it’s a little coarser for the delicate skin on my body. HAHAHA! DELICATE BODY SKIN.

Okay, I love the smell I’ll have to admit, and I love it for scrubbing my body and everywhere else clean, but it made my toilet so freaking oily! Not only my toilet, even my whole body!

The body scrub contain a whole lot of amount oil so it is very, very oily. Even after rinsing off with water, you will clearly see a film of oil on your body and you will feel like you have just took an oily shower instead of a refreshing one! *gasp!*

The first time I used it I hate it for the oily feeling. I washed myself 2 or 3 times with soap and whatever I can to get rid of the oily feeling. I had wanted to throw it away when I said “Hm, maybe I used it all wrong.”

I gave it another shot.

On dry body, I scrub myself all the way, and then rinse off with water. Still the same. But this time I was smart. I just pat myself dry and put on my PJs and read my magazines. Slowly, the oily feeling wore off, and my skin feel smooth, supple and somewhat very very moisturized. It was about 10 minutes after I am done with my shower.

Went to sleep.

Next morning, I woke up to the lovely smell of cherry blossoms and find that my heels are still relatively soft and crack free! No body lotions, no body butter or anything!

So my thought, AHA! So that’s what the oil are for!

Checking the website, here’s what it said.

Entice your senses with our sensual Japanese Cherry Blossom it is a beautiful blend of pink cherry blossoms, fragrant mimosa and you’ll detect sweet notes of vanilla, tonka bean, and oriental woods.

Pamper and exfoliate your skin using this Highly fragrant lovely sugar scrub. Japanese Cherry Blossom is a thick dense scrub that holds together wonderfully in the shower. It is not a runny scrub that wastes your money down the drain.

Using sugar to exfoliate help to shed dead skin cells and allowing fresh new healthy cells to shine through giving a youthful glow. They are very beneficial for dry skin, relieveing itchiness

For best results while in the shower scoop out a good amount and apply using either your hand or a wash cloth in circular motions all over your body, paying special attention to those areas that tend to be the driest like elbows, knees and feet. Remember that applying an oil based scrub in the tub can make the tub slipper so be cautious as not to fall.

Taken from Heavenlynaturalbeauty.com

I like this enough to continue using it, but I am not sure if I would recommend it to people or repurchase it, simply because the fact that it makes your bathroom oily and slippery is quite a big no no for me, since I share the bathroom with my housemate.

Unless I own the bathroom or use it alone, I don’t using this as an all over scrub, but since I am sharing, I will just use this as my weekly hand and foot scrub since it’s wonderful for my dry heels.
