Woah! It’s Thursday already!

Time flies huh? Or maybe time is crawling for some of you?

Anyway, time flies or not, I’m just happy that the week is gonna be over and I can resume to my Operation Declutter! (inspired by Bee actually!) Love the feel and look and the happy clean vibe the whole room gives after giving it some good cleaning!

Okay, that’s a small update.

Somewhere in my stash, I found this odd looking thing, which I immediately remember Mag had asked me to tell her bout my thoughts on it.

Which odd looking thing you say?

This!

Egg-ed shape puff!

The very famous Kenassy Soft & Smooth Hair Removal Puff!

Is it really that famous? I honestly don’t know, but the Japanese magazines feature this egg-y thing for quite a few times, and alot of the Japanese magazine models swear by it (I think so).

So since I am pretty much a curious tigress cat, I bought one when I was in Singapore last year. Cost me SGD8.90, which is about RM20+, which is about RM10 cheaper than buying it in Malaysia. =_=

Was I impressed and swore not to use any epilators/shavers/ shaving cream/ wax etc etc etc because this is a god-sent item?

Sorry, no. I am NOT impressed at all.

Okay, am going into details why I am not liking this as much as the Japs.

Pink for hair removal

Orange to buff skin after hair removal

When to use it:

Use on dry skin

Do not use during or right after bathing

Do not wet sponge during use

How to use it:

Lightly press (not too hard on skin) sponge against skin

Quickly rotate the sponge in circular motions (alternate between left and right rotation)

Apply cream or milky lotion afterwards

Pressing down on skin too hard or rubbing too slow will lessen hair removal

Do not use for areas other than arms and legs

Very easy right? Basically it’s just use it on dry skin, gently rotate the sponge in circular motion and don’t use it anywhere else other than on arms and legs.

The last part is the funniest part IMO. Which other part can I use it to remove hair?

The super fragile area aka the va-jay-jay? Oh god no, that’s insane! The design isn’t meant for that at all! Armpit hair removal? Doubt I can do any decent hair removal with it at all. Eyebrows? Too big for it. Facial hair? Still no ’cause it’s too big.

Okay, I know I don’t sound nice, but that’s what I think.

And we should always apply some lotion/cream after doing hair removal because hair removal might cause the skin feeling a wee bit tight and dry, so I guess it serves as a reminder? XD

Cautions:

Do not use on sensitive skin

Results may depend on individual

Hair removal may be reduced depending on hair texture, thickness, skin type and method of rubbing

Discontinue use if abnormalities occurs

Ways of maintaining your sponge:

Wash surface with neutral detergent and use a toothbrush for easier cleaning.

If you ask me if this is effective or not, well, I’d say no.

I spend like 30 mins to 1 hour trying to get rid of the hairs on my left leg! And another 30 mins to 1 hour for my right! 2 hours just trying to rub away the hair! Crazy I tell you!

And it doesn’t remove hair as clean and as fast as compared to me using my old favourite method which is shaving, so what’s the point? And hair regrowth period is the same as compared to me shaving me legs, double pointless.

My arms are sore from the constant rubbing that I just give up, and it doesn’t help that some areas on my leg look a bit more reddish because dumb hair just won’t get off! And mind you, I am being very gentle on the skin.

Just wasted mah SGD8.90. Blergh.

Still can’t understand why the Japanese models love it. Maybe they have really little hair that needs taking care off, or mine is simply way too stubborn to get rid of by using such gentle motions. =_=

Now you know, not everything Japanese is awesome. LOL. And don’t trust the magazines 100% even if the item has been featured every time you pick up a copy!

Back to shaving!
