So sinful, so yummy! I LIKE! Haha!

Anyways, I’m not going through a full length review as I had done it before, but for another flavour My first MLS lipbalm was Pink Grapefruit! Click HERE to read This review is more of a flavour review than the actual lipbalm review. LOL.

After finishing the whole tube of Pink Grapefruit, I had Chocolate Cheesecake and also Mango Sorbet and then I stopped. I had so many other lipbalms that I hadn’t thought of repurchasing since I hate the waiting period.

But hey, Cynthia of My Lip Stuff Malaysia has brought them in! And she’s kind enough to provide me a yummy-licious Cookies & Cream for me to enjoy the yums but without the extras like fats! LOL.

MLS definitely changed their packaging a little. It wasn’t like this before. I don’t see much of a difference, so I am fine.

Still contain the same ingredients: Sunflower Oil, Beeswax, Cocoa Butter, Sweet Almond Oil, Castor Oil, Jojoba Oil, Avocado Oil, Aloe Vera, Essential &/Or Flavour Oil

How can your lips be not moisturized and soft with so much moisturizing stuff?

But due to it’s super moisturizing nature (for me that is!), my lipstick/ lipgloss slides off super easily, which isn’t something I quite like. However, I found a nice trick that would allow me to use this BEFORE applying lip colour, which is glide the lipbalm over your lips, let it be for a while and you do the rest of your makeup, and then finally you gently blot your lipbalm away and apply your lippies! That way, you don’t dry out your lips if your lippies are on the drying side! Given that it’s quite slippery and quite buttery when you apply, I reckon this is the same as the old packaging, if you leave it under the heat, it’ll melt, like super fast

That’s pretty much it.

Oh wait, unlike Pink Grapefruit, which left a sweet sugary taste when I lick my lips (bad move I know!), this Cookies & Cream left a funky aftertaste if I lick my lips. A bit plastic-ky, if I may say so. A bit of a turn off, but not that bad, I tasted lipbalms that is like 10x worse than this and smells horrible too!

And you will love the glossy sheen it leaves! It glossy sheen beats quite a lot of colourless glosses out there!

Oh I haven’t mention about it’s awesome smell! I can’t stop taking a whiff of this lipbalm because it smells so much like Famous Amos Cookies or Oreos!! Really, those warm chocolate cookie taste, it actually made me want to run to the nearest Famous Amos and grab me some real cookies! Well, Oreos are awesome too!

Now, I wanna go grab me some cookies for breakfast, anyone joining me?

I have been lucky enough to be contacted by Maybelline’s PR to review their new Color Sensational Moisture Extreme Lip Color. They provided me four of their best selling shades from their 4 different colour groups. I got Pink Bloom from Fresh Pinks, Summer Sunset from Sexy Reds, Papaya Milk from Fun Corals and Buff from Elegant Nudes.

I used to own 1 lipstick from the older formula, it was also know as Moisture Extreme something something, but I can’t remember the exact name or the exact shade of the lipstick already. I didn’t quite like it to be honest. It has this weird smell, and even though it claim to be moist and all, but I felt it was rather drying? >_< Chuck it already.

But… this time Maybelline scored a winner! The reformulated lipstick is really really lovely!

Swatches on my arm…

It’s crazily pigmented. Just one swipe and this is the intensity you get. It’s rather creamy, but it does sink into the fine lines if you don’t use a layer of lipbalm beneath, maybe I have really bad lips? But too much lipbalm before lipstick makes the lippie slides off rather easily, like as though it won’t stay, so you will need the right amount on lipbalm on your lips before applying the lippie.

Excuse the bad lips. By the way, my lips is rather pigmented So light shade doesn’t show as well as the darker ones.

Pink Bloom hardly show up on me, but it’s one colour that I can use everyday without worrying it being awful or anything on me. It’s like a tinted lipbalm on me.

Papaya Milk is another colour which is quite wearable on me despite it being a little orange. I usually don’t wear corals but I think I can wear this without much effort.

Buff look very dark and very warm in the tube, but on my lips, it became a neutral nude-y colour on me, but with some added warmth. Not my favourite colour and I doubt I’ll wear this often. I still like pink and reds for my lips.

And finally, my favourite colour of the lot, Summer Sunset! I have been wanting to find a beautiful red shade for my lips and I think I found it! A blue based tone red that make me look so much fairer than normal! I love!!!!

Overall staying power is quite decent with me drinking and eating, it lasted about 2 to 3 hours before needing a reapplication for Pink Bloom. The others stayed on longer for about 4 hours? Summer Sunset is the best because it’s like a lip tint and stays on and on for the longest time! Love it!

My face got no makeup on so it’s pretty blah… Just look at those red lips okay! That’s the main focus!!!

Did I just tell you I love Summer Sunset? LOL.

Retailing at all major pharmacies and departmental stores for RM24.90. I believe this goes on sale quite often so maybe you can wait for sales, but RM24.90 isn’t that bad for a nice lippie, yes?

I saw these before my little accident, hence perfectly pretty left hand. Ahak!

The Lip Concealer aren’t anything new, but they are promoting it because they want to promote the Nude Lips trend, which Lena look so pretty in it! Forgot about the price tag, but it’s around RM30 or so.

But the Nudy Glow Rouge is something new. Awfully pigmented yes? Selling for RM42.90.

Aren’t the names true to it’s colours? By the way, the colours are matte, well, uh I mean no shimmers in it. But it does gives you a glossy pout. It isn’t sticky and wipes of really easily with a piece of tissue. I guess it means staying power is pretty bad.

These are available in Sasa. Saw them in 1 Utama’s Old Wing.

Moving to Sunway Pyramid’s Parkson.  Would love to take pictures, but I was running short on time, so didn’t manage to take any.

I also saw a Canmake counter. They don’t have this new gloss, but they do have the Cheek Gradation, and is selling at a freaking RM62.90! Jeez! They are pretty, but is the price worth it?

I also saw the Double Eyelid Glue, false eyelashes (I think), eyebrow tweezers and spare rubbers for eyelash curler. If they sell spare rubbers, it must have meant that the eyelash curler is available too, but unfortunately, it was OOS when I was there.

But when the 50% deal came along, I knew that it is the right time to buy those lippies, although I was very very broke at that time.

Packaging is simple yet classy, yes? I quite like minimalistic packaging, provided that they don’t look cheap and crudely made.

Colour is a little off here, it isn’t as dark as seen on the picture, it’s quite a medium shade of plummy-pink tone lippie and it contains silvery blue shimmer flecks in it. Very very pretty.

I swatched 3 times for the top pictures, and once for the bottom ones. Notice how sheer it can be? The name says it all, Sheer Climax Rouge. No idea why the ‘climax’ though. Maybe you get high or some sort after applying? I wonder.

As you can see, the colour varies due to different lightings, but I would say that Pic 1 is the closest to real life colour. It appears a peachy pink colour under the other 2 lightings which I don’t know why. Maybe it’s my skintone? But nevertheless, it looks like a really wearable colour for everyone whether it’s for day or night!

However, on the lips, it’s very very different than the swatches I’ve done!

Obviously, it looks like a milky lavender pink on me. Swiped twice on the lips. My lips’ dry and it’s cracking here and there. So naturally, the lippie sinks into the fine lines a little, which I think with by applying a lipbalm before the lippie, the problem will be solved easily.

Before you go thinking that this isn’t the colour for you, there’s one more pictures of the lippie on my lips!

Doesn’t it look wonderfully natural on me?

The last picture are the one that is the closest to real life colours on lips. A glossy plummy pink which goes on quite natural on me, as long as I swipe not more than twice on my lips. I wonder why is it that sheer on my hands but not as sheer on the lips? Weird right?

The lipstick lasted quite a while, with normal eating and drinking. Reapplication is needed if you want the glossy lips. Glossiness is gone by the time you finish your food.

I won’t say that this lip colour is great for all skintones, as I find that I need to be careful when I apply this. Anything too much makes me look weird and I think I look washed out and maybe even look sickly. Oh well, pink lipsticks hardly work that well for me. I’m just glad this I could make this lipstick work for me instead of throwing giving/swapping it away.

In my opinion, nothing beats Avon, for now at least. I am being very honest right here. So far, all my lippies from Avon has been nothing but fantastic! Be it the Cynthia Rowley ones, or the Ultra Moisturizing ones (oops! haven’t review them!) or the ones I will be reviewing right now!

Avon Glazewear Lipstick

I love the sleek and polish packaging, although fingerprints are sure to be everywhere on it! Haha! It gives such a classy feel to it, don’t you think? A plus point already for pretty (though not very practical) packaging!

Here’s what Avon promised about this lipstick.

It does everything except number 2. The colour is pretty sheer. Maybe I have pigmented lips, so it doesn’t show. But even swatching on my hand, the colours are pretty light. My camera couldn’t catch the colours no matter how I tweak the setting >_<, and that also I have layer the colours 3 times each just for the swatches. Sigh.

However, other than that, everything’s lovely!

I bought 3 colours out of the 5 or 6 colours they have. It was so hard to choose! I settled for these 3. Coral Goddess may look orange or coral tone like, but when swatched and on lips, it’s a peach pink colour. Rhinestone Rose is a cool rose pink colour, while Pink Diamond is a lighter version of Coral Goddess. No shimmer, but it just goes on glossy. I quite like it. In fact, it reminds me of Revlon’s Super Lustrous Shiny Sheers (I love them! totally!)

And what draw me to buying this? The price!

Selling at RM12 till 15th May, it’s a steal! Go grab it! But even if you miss the sales, the price isn’t horribly high, I think it’s around rm20 or so. For a nice lippie, I don’t mind purchasing at a slightly higher price.

Packaging wise, honestly, nothing fancy about it. Heck the colour on the label runs if your hand is wet! Look at my Pink Grapefruit! So obvious! LOL!

It’s just like any twist and turn lipbalm, which makes it rather hygienic and travel friendly too.

But don’t let the packaging fool you! It’s pretty good actually!

It’s not waxy, but it’s sorta like buttery and rather slippery like what it says in the website. I love it! My lips feels really nice, lips stop chapping, so I do like that. And the extra bonus is that it smells good! I love the smell! When I put Pink Grapefruit on and I lick my lips (bad move I know!), it taste sweet, like there’s some kind of sugar. Me likey!

And also, it kept my lips quite moisturized for 2 hours before needing to reapply and it doesn’t leave a white cast

If you ask me which I like better, between Shu Uemura’s lip serum and this, I can say I like them both just the same! Shu is expensive, so I use it during the night, as an extra TLC, while for the day, this works fine!

And a little note to add, this sinks in slightly slower than Shu’s lip serum, maybe it’s because I just glide this on my lips and that’s it. For Shu Uemura’s lip serum, I do a little massage. Just a quick note to share!

I LOVE this lipgloss!

Really! It’s cheap, smooth, not sticky, and goes on lovely!

Instead of a doe foot sponge applicator, these came in brush tip. Looks kinda like Stila Lip Glaze’s applicator. One little thing to note though, the applicator splays a little, but it doesn’t affect much. What I do this I snip the splayed part off, and it’s good to use!

Plum Orchid is a blue-toned purple, Rose Petal is rosey-tone milky pink, and Peony Pink, a light sweet pink.

Swatches of the 3 colours…

Look at these, it’s really pigmented. One swipe and you see colour, it’s very obvious with the Plum Orchid, since it’s the darkest among three. Peony Pink is the lightest, but yet it shows a good amount of colour.

All 3 colours don’t have any shimmer. It’s not matte, it’s shiny. It gives you lips that’s smooth, moist and plump! And it’s not sticky! It doesn’t dry out the lips too! I wore Peony Pink yesterday, and to my delight, even without a balm underneath, it goes on smooth and pretty! Ah! Lovely!

It lasted on me about 2 1/2 hours, I took a few sips of water in between. The shine was gone, but slight colour remains. I am not too fussy about the staying power, because I don’t mind touching up at all! If I don’t, when will I ever finish my 123456789 of lipglosses and lipsticks?

This little gem is only available in Avon outlets, and as the name implies, it’s a Limited Edition item. Go grab it before it’s gone! I want to go buy a few more too!

And they have the lipstick version too! Maybe I should get those too? Avon lipsticks are quite nice generally *prays Connie don’t whack me*

Shu Uemura Deepsea Moisture Lip Serum

I have chapped lips. And it’s dry. T_T Tried a lot of balms but either it didn’t really work or the effect is something I am not too happy with, only a few manage to pass the test.

I bought this along with the Midnight Sakura eye palette. I tried on the spot, but didn’t quite feel much effect, maybe my lips that time were so dry and chapp-y that nothing can save it unless I go home, drink water and sleep. But one thing was, the dry flaky part of the lips was gently exfoliated off when I massage it in, and it wasn’t painful, nor made me bleed. I guess it’s because it moisturizes really well, so dead skin cells are lift off easily.

I decided to give this a shot, since I am already there and most lip balms don’t work on me, so why not? RM85 per tube. If this works, I never need to buy another balm again! Think of how many pots of lipbalms I’d save up on!

The night I went back I gave myself a good shower and everything, and gently exfoliate my lips with a soft toothbrush. And then I quickly apply this.

And you know what?

I feel like as though I am massaging in droplets and droplets of water onto my lips! No stickiness, no fragrance, no white cast, no dryness! Just totally supple and smooth looking lips!

This is my Holy Grail! Seriously! But before I get into hyper mode, I hit the sack. The next morning, still the same soft lips. Loving it! Got out of bed and clean myself and everything I use the lip serum again.

My lips hardly chapped at all the whole day.

Imagine my delight!

And all you need it is just a pea size or smaller for lips. One tube can last me for 2 or 3 months, I think, since I only use it morning and night.

Was the RM85 well spent?

Duh! Of course!

If you have problematic lips like mine and nothing much helps, get this. I don’t think you will regret it. I am so loving my lips each time I have done massaging with them!

So in love with Shu Uemura!

Majolica Majorca Honey Pump Gloss in RD447

My previous post mentioned that MJ’s Honey Pump Gloss is good, right?

I tested it a few days back and I think it performed quite well for the price tag it comes with.

This colour is a red with some blue tones in it. Once applied on lips, it seems to brighten my teeth and makes me look fairer. I do notice that whenever I put on red or pinks with a little blue tone, they tend to make me look fairer with a radiant look. I tested this with The Bodyshop Lip & Cheek Stain and it’s the same result!

Colour payoff is good for this one! There are a few which are sheer, so pick something with a deeper colour for the colour to show better on your lips, especially if you have dark lips like mine. My lips is a plummy/ wine red lips.

Staying power is quite good too. I ate dinner with this on, and when I wipe my mouth, the colour shows on the tissue, although lighter than what I had put on originally. Not bad!

Texture wise it isn’t too sticky. Something that I am okay with. And the smell, it is sweet. Don’t remember the smell, but it’s not cloying.

For RM17.90, I think it’s a safe purchase which I think most people won’t regret.

Only gripe, they don’t have enough colours for me to choose!
