Hello!

Here’s a short post from me before I do a mad dash out of the door!

Maybelline Hyper Diamonds Eyeshadow

The colour pigmentation is not too bad, they feel quite smooth, though the bottom middle feels a tad more gritty than the others.

For RM35.90, it’s not too bad!

Maybelline Clear Smooth Minerals Instant Skin Perfecting Cream B.B Cream SPF26 PA+++

Oh my god! That’s a mouthful! It’s really tiny, fits into my palm and it’s pretty runny and nice to spread and blend. Coverage is sheer to medium, quite neutral too! Too bad it comes only in 1 shade and maybe too fair for darker ladies.

Rm22.90 for this isn’t too bad. I might give this a try! And the eyeshadow too!

Check out your local Guardian okay? Haven’t seen this in Watsons yet!

Okay, am off for the weekend!

I have been lucky enough to be contacted by Maybelline’s PR to review their new Color Sensational Moisture Extreme Lip Color. They provided me four of their best selling shades from their 4 different colour groups. I got Pink Bloom from Fresh Pinks, Summer Sunset from Sexy Reds, Papaya Milk from Fun Corals and Buff from Elegant Nudes.

I used to own 1 lipstick from the older formula, it was also know as Moisture Extreme something something, but I can’t remember the exact name or the exact shade of the lipstick already. I didn’t quite like it to be honest. It has this weird smell, and even though it claim to be moist and all, but I felt it was rather drying? >_< Chuck it already.

But… this time Maybelline scored a winner! The reformulated lipstick is really really lovely!

Here goes!

See, it comes with SPF15 too! Not bad eh?

Swatches on my arm…

It’s crazily pigmented. Just one swipe and this is the intensity you get. It’s rather creamy, but it does sink into the fine lines if you don’t use a layer of lipbalm beneath, maybe I have really bad lips? But too much lipbalm before lipstick makes the lippie slides off rather easily, like as though it won’t stay, so you will need the right amount on lipbalm on your lips before applying the lippie.

Excuse the bad lips. By the way, my lips is rather pigmented So light shade doesn’t show as well as the darker ones.

Pink Bloom hardly show up on me, but it’s one colour that I can use everyday without worrying it being awful or anything on me. It’s like a tinted lipbalm on me.

Papaya Milk is another colour which is quite wearable on me despite it being a little orange. I usually don’t wear corals but I think I can wear this without much effort.

Buff look very dark and very warm in the tube, but on my lips, it became a neutral nude-y colour on me, but with some added warmth. Not my favourite colour and I doubt I’ll wear this often. I still like pink and reds for my lips.

And finally, my favourite colour of the lot, Summer Sunset! I have been wanting to find a beautiful red shade for my lips and I think I found it! A blue based tone red that make me look so much fairer than normal! I love!!!!

Overall staying power is quite decent with me drinking and eating, it lasted about 2 to 3 hours before needing a reapplication for Pink Bloom. The others stayed on longer for about 4 hours? Summer Sunset is the best because it’s like a lip tint and stays on and on for the longest time! Love it!

Here’s me cam-whoring with Summer Sunset! Yesh I know I am biased, but I love this shade!

My face got no makeup on so it’s pretty blah… Just look at those red lips okay! That’s the main focus!!!

Did I just tell you I love Summer Sunset? LOL.

Retailing at all major pharmacies and departmental stores for RM24.90. I believe this goes on sale quite often so maybe you can wait for sales, but RM24.90 isn’t that bad for a nice lippie, yes?

This post was supposed to be up on Sunday night, but damn the internet connection! Was down till just now! Grrrr!

Anyway, here’s some quick swatches for you guys to take a look!

Maybelline Eyestudio Diamond Glow (Limited Edition) – RM33.90

The one labeled as Black and Brown are the gel liners. Fresh Green is one of the eyeshadow palettes.

Blue gel liner which is a metallic blue. Has a nice metallic like sheen. Limited edition unlike the Black and Brown gel liners. Those are permanent.

It’s much more pigmented actually, but I guess due to the place I place the colour on and with the lighting, it washes out the colour a bit.

I find Lilac Mauve to be a bit more chalky and powdery than the rest.

Look at the Copper Brown! Beautiful isn’t it? Same goes with Wine Pink!

I did a little test with the gel liners to see if they are smudge proof and water proof or not And they did not disappoint me!

I rub it off first with Watson’s wet tissue and then gently dab a little Inuovi cleansing oil it. The purpose of the cleansing oil is to actually emulate (not sure if it’s the right word) my oily eyelids. It stayed on pretty well huh?

My thoughts on these?

The colours are pretty much the same as Majolica Majorca Jewelling Palettes. In fact, I do think that MJ Jewelling Palettes are like dupes of Maybelline this time! I swatched all of them although at different time, but I like the colour payoff of Maybelline slightly better than MJ. Texture wise I think they are both more or less the same. MJ is a little more towards subtle shimmer, while Maybelline has a more metallic kind of a finish with more shimmer. The name Diamond Glow says it all.

I honestly think that Maybelline should justd DC ALL the other palettes and make this permanent! Really, this is one of the best eyeshadow ever! And at the price, not even Kate or MJ can beat it!

And I bought these too!

Am gonna try them out and report about them after using them for a bit!

This is so overdue, I know.

Forgive me, kay?

I know I should have reviewed this earlier, but well, better late than never right?

Here goes!

I chose the lightest colour, N00 Very Light Ochre. The other colours were too dark or too yellow for me. I know we Asians have really strong yellow undertones, but not to the point of DARK YELLOW undertones!

It was so difficult choosing the right colour, because it was either too dark, or too yellow or it was weird on me. My best match is N00, but still it’s a little too light on me, that’s what I thought initially. But after using it with a few times with different brushes and different amount of powder, I found the solution. FYI, I’m a NC25-30–35. Depending on the weather.

Less is more!

I use this with EDM flat top brush because the brush that comes with the foundation is HORRIBLE! Scratchy! I hate it! But EDM is so soft and silky that it feels oh-so-good to be on your face! Just bin the kabuki brush and use your own brushes. And when I use a really tiny amount, the powder actually matches my skintone pretty well. Either my face and my neck is 2 tone before, or my skin has gone fairer, or I was too heavy handed the first time I use the foundation.

A swatch of the foundation.

You need only a tiny amount of the foundation in order to get your face looking more even tone. With this, the redness around my cheeks are really minimized, freckles are not so visible and of course, my pores were visibly gone! The coverage is pretty good, if you ask me, since you only need so little of it to work on your face. And it’s lightweight! You don’t feel a thing on your face! Plus the powder’s pretty fine and smooth too, leaving your face matte with a soft touch.

Although it’s pretty good in terms of coverage and texture, it has it’s cons too. First thing first, it made my nose SHINIER than usual. The foundation has never said it offers oil control, but hey, I wasn’t expecting it to make my nose even oilier than normal! I tried this a few times, but still, my nose feels oilier comparing with days I don’t use the foundation at all. Sigh, what a let down. Second thing, you must not use it if your face is damp/ slightly oily. It will cause your foundation to be blotchy, patchy and uneven. >_< I was in a hurry one fine day so I did not dab my face with a tissue before I use the foundation and when I was done, the foundation look a wee bit cakey on me. =_=

I’m not sure if I want to get another one of this foundation, since one jar will last me for a long long time. Perhaps if the colour selection is wider and not so yellowish/ dark, I might consider getting another one more, but then again, with this foundation making my T-Zone oilier, I might as well just skip it.

Oh well, there’s nothing perfect. At least for me, foundations and concealers are my worst enemies!

Maybelline Eye & Lip Make Up Remover

After reviewing ZA Cleansing Oil, I did promise to review makeup remover specially for eyes and lips, and I proudly present you this post!

I think this is my 2nd or 3rd bottle of Maybelline Eye & Lip Makeup Remover and I will continue to purchase it! Simply because it’s wonderful!

I love the way it takes off even the most stubborn mascara in like 30 seconds and it’s very gentle to the skin, my skin around the eye area don’t feel taut or dry. I don’t need to rub hard just to get rid of eye makeup, just simply soak a cotton pad with it, leave on the eye area for 10 second to 30 second or longer, depending on the intensity of your eye makeup, gently rub a little, and voila, sparkling clean eyes!

*hearts hearts hearts*

Maybelline never fails me, and it’s cheap. Well, not very cheap if you count by the quantity, but as long as it doesn’t irritate my eyes and gets the job done, I don’t really care!

Oh, it’s slightly oily. I don’t quite like that. But given the fact that it’s good stuff overshines the oiliness, I think I can ignore that and enjoy Maybelline.

What else can I say? YES, I WILL REPURCHASE THIS!

Tried this or other makeup removers? Share your thoughts with me!

I needed to attend a wedding dinner and I forgot my makeup stuff, so I rushed to the nearest Watson to grab anything that looks good and so I bought this. It’s a great mascara that volumizes well and offers nice lengthening effects. Holds curl quite nicely. Waterproof but yet easy to remove. It’s not clumpy too! After the dinner, I went to do some research on this mascara. Apparently it has recieved a lot of good reviews from Japanese girls and a lot of them are using this. I bought myself a great stuff!

If I can’t find any other volumizing mascara that’s better, I’ll be sticking to this one!

Maybelline Unstoppable

Has very natural effect, not clumpy no matter how much you apply and helps lengthening too. Only problem is that you will need to add layers and layers on it to really make your lashes long. Other than that, no problem with lengthening. Removal is easy despite being said as waterproof. And it doesn’t smudge! For those who like lashes with lots of volume or dramatically long lashes, don’t get this one, you only end up with dissapointed. But it’s great for those who wants a natural look.

Won’t be buying this anymore since I’ve got a better lengthening mascara – ZA Cutie Curl Long Lash.

Maybelline Lash Discovery

For Lash Discovery, the brush is really small and it reaches those tiny little corners nicely! Lengthening wise is so-so, nothing much to shout out. Volume I think it scores a zero from me, not that I really bother. I don’t fancy thick lashes as much as I love long lashes It’s definitely easy to remove because it is not waterproof, much to my dismay. I never like non- waterproof mascaras.

Loreal Panoramic Curl

Panoramic Curl is the only mascara that I got from Loreal. It has done a good job in curling my lashes and fanning them out nicely. Volume is a zero, while lengthening is so- so. It smudges badly on me, who can blame it? It wasn’t waterproof. >_<

I ditch these two mascaras after a few usage. Why? Because I bought them during a warehouse sale and it was near expiry date. I just bought them for fun and to test them out. Well, both are not the kind of stuff I would buy again because of the flaws they have and I still think there are better options out there.

Price: Not sure about the market price, but I got it for both during warehouse sales under RM25.

Maybelline XXL.

Pros:
Lengthening wise, quite good. Volume wise it performed quite well also and it’s waterproof.

Cons:
It dries rather slowly. And if you are not patient, you will end up with clumpy lashes. And I’m not sure is it only me alone, but I find that the white fibers are a little dificult to cover up with the black mascara. You need to put on a few layers on order to cover it up and you are taking the risk of getting clumpy lashes by having too many layers.

Other than that, I think everything else is okay. Oh, it’s quite easy to remove too.

But it’s definitely not on my re-purchase list. I can get better mascaras for more or less the same price.

Price: RM35.90
