I got an uncountable amount of cleansers… At least five, I think. But there’s always one or two that I always go back to and there’s one or two which is an absolutely favourite and will never mind to repurchase and will cry and cringe if it’s been discontinued!

I guess you all know how I feel and how I think, right? Hee~

As I grow older, my skin is going from super oily–> oily–> slightly dry–> kinda dry. Items that used to HG sometimes make my skin flakes because of the oil controlling properties Kinda sad, but oh well, part of life.

So now my skin reaches the stage of it being oily on T-zone and chin, but slightly dry on the cheek and got a bit of dry patch on the forehead too! I don’t use such strong oil control products anymore for fear of making my skin flakes, it’s very visible when I have makeup on, but no so when I go bare face.

Anyway, I think retaining moisture on your skin starts with washing with the correct cleanser. Not necessarily it must make your skin extra plump with moisture or anything, but at least, it doesn’t strip moisture off your skin making dry and tout after cleansing!

So today, here comes a very new family member into my ever growing cleanser collection. LOL.

Neutrogena Hydro Boost Mousse Cleanser

What can I say about this?

LOVES!

And you will know why in a bit!

This cleanser comes in a hygienic pump bottle, which doesn’t spill or anything. I took it along to Melaka and to Bangkok and experience no spills. Hehe. I quite like the simple blue packaging, it’s just lovely! It has this light fragrance, not exactly something I love at first “smell”, but it’s quite acceptable after a while.

Okay, texture next! Look at this!

Thick foam with just one pump! Awesomeness!

And it doesn’t even drip while I put my hands down!

After rubbing for a bit…

Still foamy!

Seriously, one pump is all you need if you don’t have any makeup on or just very light makeup like a bit of concealer and power. And after cleansing, your skin feels amazingly soft and clean. But definitely NOT dry at all.

Totally love this for mornings when I get up late and have no time to get my cleanser to foam up nicely

I seriously think this product is lovely and it’s not just talk but no results.

Totally in my repurchase list!

For RM29.90, I think it’s a good price to pay!

I was talking about St Ives Firming Clay Mineral Mask yesterday and had hinted you girls about a review for a hydrating sheet mask.

I keep my promises. As much as I can.

LOL. Anyway.

Neutrogena Deep Hydrating Mask

I am so lazy to type out the description. So I took a snapshot of it

The invention of handphone camera is a god-sent-gift.

It does live up to its claim. Really. I am not joking. I am very pleased with this mask. Although, as usual, I do have my gripes about it.

I used this mask right after I am done with St Ives clay mask. You know, clay mask leaves a tight and slightly dry feeling to your skin as it really suck out the oiliness in your skin. I decided to treat my skin with a hydrating mask and decided to use this particular mask, out of so many other mask I have!

The sheet mask is fairly thin, and there is quite a lot of essence. At least after leaving it on for 15 minutes it’s still wet

The sheet mask fits my face, although it can be better, but I am not complaining. Customize sheet mask would cost a bomb in my opinion.

This doesn’t come with an eye flap, so no mask for the eyes I am wishing it for it to come with eye flaps, at least my eyes gets some pampering too!

It’s a bit sticky after application, which I don’t like. But that is not going to prevent me from skipping my skincare routine! As usual, I slab on my essence, moisturizer and eye cream and massage everything in.

5 minutes later, hello soft smooth skin, goodbye oily skin!

So the oiliness is a short term thing eh?

It really did leave my skin a healthy glow and definitely moisturizes the skin well.

I think the mask is worth the money, because it’s highly raved in Taiwan and among the Chinese celebrities, and of course, delivers good results!

Neutrogena’s mask often goes on sale, so go grab them at Watsons or Guardians nearby! It’s worth it!

Speaking of which, Guardian is having sales on Neutrogena, so what are you waiting for? Stock up!

I highly heart this.

Read on for more!

Neutrogena Fine Fairness Serum

It’s highly raved in Taiwan. Oh yes it is.

Because it works. It really does.

I can’t stop myself from saying “I Heart You!”

Really!

Let’s start with the texture. It’s liquid, but not with super watery consistency, but easy to spread. It’s light yellowish in colour and smells nice. A light floral smell? Somewhat. Hard to describe.

It’s not sticky or oily, so girls with oily skin can use this. It makes your skin smooth and supple and everytime I use this, I can’t stop touching my face! It absorbs into your skin really well, but do be aware that it contains Vitamin C,
so people with sensitive skin might find that it stings a little upon application, especially the first few times. And if you have super dehydrated skin, you will find that happening to you too!

But after once or twice, the stinging sensation is gone. And after a few more usage, you find that your skin are glowy, dewy, brighter and fairer and your uneven skin tone has been evened out! And pores not so visible too!

Nice right? A serum that comes with Vitamin C, soy bean extract and also retinol to help skin cells renewal and thus giving you clearer, fairer, brighter, dewy, glowy, BEAUTIFUL skin!

I used this till the very last drop and honestly I love love love this very much! It improved my skintone and making it look better than before (not that I have bad skin before, but I can always make it look better).

Something that I definitely will re-purchase over and over again.

IF.

it’s available in Malaysia. Gah!

So I found another essence which I am hoping it will do a great job like Neutrogena, and do remember to check back always for more reviews!

Till then, have a fabulous weekend!

Stay fabulous and have fun!

Neutrogena Ultra Sheer Dry-Touch Sunblock

Another sunblock on my dressing table. Has Biore sunblock been beaten out of it’s champion place as my favourite sunblock? You will have to read further on to know the results!

I bought this in a whim. I was fascinated by the word, dry-touch. I hated sunblocks which leaves an oily greasy feel on the face or body. And in this kind of hot, humid weather, it’s a definite killer if it goes on oily and greasy.

This particular sunblock has a nice light scent, something that Biore lacks of. It’s texture is thick and creamy, but I find it’s a bit difficult to spread. Perhaps I am so used to the liquid consistency that Biore has. A little change doesn’t hurt right?

Now, does it really dries down into what it claims to be “dry touch”? For me, it dries down to “semi-matte” finish. Not exactly matte, slightly oily, so for me, it’s not a dry-touch feeling at all.

Should I even mention oil control? I think I should. This sunblock offers little to none oil control properties. Yes, you saw it. Little to none. So people with oily skin, STAY AWAY! You have been warned!

I tested this out on a usual working day, where I have to squeeze and rush for the KTM. The heat, the mess and evertyhing = oil-prone face. So I decided to go 50-50. Half face Biore, another half with this. So my verdict on oil control?

Biore’s the winner! My half face with Neutrogena was oily already by the time I got to my office, while Biore is semi-matte. Big difference. So I thought perhaps I should go one day Biore, the other day Neutrogena for a test. And so I did. Same thing again. Same KTM station, same situation. The day I had Biore on my face is still quite matte and fresh after the whole ordeal which is about 1 hour, and with Neutrogena, my face is nothing but oiliness in just 1 hour of cramping and everything.

To summarize everything:

Scent
Neutrogena wins!

Oil- control
Biore wins!

Ease to spread on face
Biore wins!

Affordability
It’s a tie. Not much difference on price.

For those who are thinking of whether to get this or Biore’s , stop thinking and get Biore instead.

Neutrogena’s sunblock is definitely not on my re-purchase list. I love the scent, but that’s all it offers. Too bad.

As I mentioned in my previous post, I usually use Pure & Mild White Brightening Cleansing Foam in the mornings when I get out of bed and I use another cleanser before I go to bed. And this is where Neutrogena Deep Clean Foaming Cleanser comes in!

I’ve used this cleanser, like 2 or 3 of it? And never got bored of it. Why? The reason’s simple, it’s cheap, widely available, and does the job perfectly well!

As the name indicated, it’s a deep cleansing cleanser, which is good, because I have combination to oily skin, and needs the extra boost of deep cleansing for my blackhead prone skin. >_< Grr... I hate blackheads! Anyway, I have my way of getting rid of it, it's slow, but well, it works. Another post for that!

Anyway, back to this, it has a light scent, I’m not too sure what scent it smells like, but definitely not something smelly and yucky! It’s a creamy white paste, when mixed with water, it becomes very foamy. Lovely I would say!

Cleanses really well, skin is left feeling very clean, I think it’s a little dry, but it’s acceptable. It’s a deep cleansing cleanser that’s suppose to get rid of the gunk and dirt and oil from your face, so of course it’s a bit drying! Load up on mosturizing toner and moisturizer and everything will be just fine.

I use this at night because I feel that it’s slightly stronger than
Pure & Mild White Brightening Cleansing Foam and would clean the skin better. Pure & Mild White Brightening Cleansing Foam is a bit mild so it’s best left for morning use, since your skin isn’t dirty from the dirt and air from the outside world, unless you tell me your room and bed are infested with yucky stuff?

Anyway, it’s claim of oil control I think it’s doing just fine, nothing to scream about, but the super clean feeling you get is unbeatable. I’ve tried so many other cleansers that claims to give a clean and refreshing feeling, but failed miserably at that. Will blog about it later.

Not recommended for people with dry or sensitive skin, as I mentioned earlier this is a bit drying. But I think it’s good for people who have oily skin like me, as it really cleanses well. Oh, I never have any break out from using this.

A recommended purchase and repurchase!
