I like Shills a lot basically. To the extend that I would repurchase items over and over and prays so hard that it will NEVER EVER be discontinued.

I hate it so much when TBS discontinued my favourite fragrance Magnolia, till I refused to step into TBS for a while. And then they go discontinued my Pink Grapefruit! What is wrong with people taking off good smelling stuff and retaining the yucky ones???

Bleh. Now you know why I always buy doubles for stuff I really like!

With that being said, this item I am reviewing is so not on my favourite list.

Why?

I have plenty to rant about! Haha!

Look at the fancy claims.

Primes, protects and correct in just one step! This anti-aging primer creates the perfect canvas for foundation application.

Offers smoothing & revitalizing effect. (it’s at the back of the tube which I forgot to take a picture of.)

Mysterious point 1: Protects? Hello? I don’t see any SPF here or anything that related to protection, unless there’s something else you wanna protect the face from… Hm… what could it be?

Mysterious point 2: Correction? What correction? This offers absolutely no correction at all.

See, it’s just a milky white-beigish pink base colour which goes on translucent after blending it out. Doesn’t cover my pores at all if I compare it to my Etude House Peach Pore Erasing Base which does a fantastic job, it doesn’t make my foundation last any longer, or maybe it did, but too little to be taken notice of. And offers absolutely no oil control. So the point of claiming that it helps to prime the skin before foundation is actually just crap. Doesn’t work that way at all.

Does it gets any worse?

Maybe, we have 3 more mysterious point that we haven’t talk about. Let’s explore those 3.

Mysterious point 3: It definitely did not revitalizes me. At all. I wonder what’s the logic behind the revitalization claim. Hm… Maybe the scent?

Mysterious point 4: Anti aging? What anti aging? I don’t see anything related to anti-aging here! Maybe I am blind?

The mysterious points stops right here.

The only thing that is true to it’s claim is smoothing out your face for the perfect canvas for foundation application. It does smoothen out, but if you used quite a fair bit of different primers, you’d notice that this isn’t awesome or very good in doing that. I think it’s just okay.

The texture is pretty nice to spread out, kinda creamy like, and it does have a nice scent. Nothing to strong, so don’t worry. The whole packaging is very girlie, pink and white with a faux diamond. Sweet huh?

Unless you love buying cute/sweet/pretty stuff instead of something that works, you can buy this, of course. But if you have a budget to stay to and prefers something that works instead of the pretty packaging, save your money for something else that works.

The product is 50ml and is sold approximately RM35-RM50 depending on sellers.

Was meant to post this up quite a while back, but I keep forgetting. Plus I am feeling under the weather for a whole week that I refuse to do anything. Even blogging.

That shows how bad thing is.

Anyway. The post of Shills Cherry Blossom 6-in-1 BB cream!

So pretty right? With the minimalistic black packaging and the cherry blossom design. It’s so hard not to fall in love with!

But, the packaging would be useless if the product isn’t working right? Tee hee.

Fret not, this product works! And brilliantly I’d say!

It’s quite a fair yellow colour, with very very very subtle shimmer in it and it’s lightly scented. You can’t see the shimmer unless you put your face very near to the mirror. The scent wears off pretty fast too. It’s creamy, not so much of being liquid and it doesn’t take a lot to work it on your face. Less is more, I think.

I love this BB cream to death because of the glow it gives me. From sickly to that lovely gorgeous glow! I’m not kidding! It makes you look fresh and everything like as though you have the perfect healthy lifestyle! How to hate this stuff?

I also love the fact that it has pretty good coverage, I’d say sheer to medium, where it covers my pores and dark circles without much problem. I don’t really need to use any concealer at all! Bless this BB cream! And it doesn’t oxidize or fades much on my oily face That’s pretty good!

Although I love this, I think it can be improved. I have got no problems with the texture or the scent, so I’ll leave it at that. But they could do something with oil control. This BB cream have absolutely no oil control! My nose started to go real shiny after about 2 1/2 hours! But even if it’s shiny, the BB cream still looks okay on me. Oh well, I guess I will have to settle down to using oil blotters to keep the shine away.

Second thing, they could make one or 2 more shades for darker skintone ladies. I myself, am not that dark, but when put on this BB cream, it brightens up my face and actually making it look fairer. And because my neck is a little darker than my face, it makes me look like having a damn mask on my face! But seriously, this BB cream does suit my skintone pretty well. At least on the face. But for the neck, hm, maybe I’ll just use it on my neck too! Or get some whitening stuff for the neck! LOL.

So my verdict is, Shills created a lovely BB cream which may appeal to some and may not appeal to some. I like this a lot, and am sticking with it until I find something else better, which is so rare, especially for base makeup

The BB cream is 50gm and the price is around RM35-50 depending on sellers. I heard this Cherry Blossom is limited edition, but don’t worry, it’s actually the same as the Shills Super Magic BB cream. At least that’s what my seller told me

Lisa and Joey, your wishes has been granted!

Here comes a review on Shills’ Concealer set!

The black box that came with both concealer and highlighter were squished and squashed till it lost all the prettiness in it, ugh, hate that. Freaking post office. But then again, the seller didn’t really put much effort in wrapping anyway. *shrugs* 2 parties to be blamed I guess.

Anyway, back to the concealer and highlighter.

It’s a click and twist kind of a concealer and a highlighter, think Stila’s lipglaze. Twist twist clickety click click, twist twist clickety click. And concealer comes oozing out of the brush. Now, I really don’t want to associate everything that’s click and twist = Stila’s lipglaze , but that is SO STILA! It’s their trademark! Isn’t it?

Done with analyzing their physical apperance, time to go deeper. Ahem.

First of all, the colours. The concealer is known as the Flawless Pen (duh!) and highlighter, well, Luminous Pen. Flawless is a yellowy-peach while Luminous is a beige-ish pink. Both contains shimmer, but in a very subtle way.

You might not see the shimmer in this picture (the camera couldn’t capture it), but it gives a nice even glow to the skin. My sister who dislike anything shimmery on her face other than eyeshadows, said she loves the shimmer and the glow it gives!

Texture, it’s creamy. Not super creamy, but just nice to blend it in. It dries down to a dewy finish, since it has some shimmer in it. Coverage wise, I’d say it’s sheer to medium, and it’s buildable. Unless you have super dark circles or very bad blemishes, it does the job pretty well. And because it does have some shimmer particle in it, it gives a soft focus glow. Also, it doesn’t go cakey after a few layers like some other concealers, so that’s a plus point. I usually pat a bit of powder to set it, and it pretty much stays that way the whole day.

Oxidization is minimal and it doesn’t fade much, and it’s convenient to bring along in your bag for touchups. However, I do have my grumbles and mumbles. Hehe.

One. There is only one colour available for the concealer and highlighter!

Bleh. What if I am dark? I can’t possibly use this 2 without looking like I am wearing a mask or something, right? Or what if I am super fair and this is too dark for me? the ifs…

Two. Which I think most people might have thought about it too.

How many times do I need to twist it till the product comes out?

For my first 2 or 3 times of using this, I twist it countless times. Yawns. And when it does come out (unexpectedly!), a big blob comes out from the tip! Talk about wastage! But after that few times, things are better

If you notice, I focus pretty much on the concealer instead of the highlighter. I personally find that the highlighter is pretty decent, but nothing much that’s outstanding and yes, I can live without it. The highlighter is nothing much, just adding some shimmer and shine and highlights the face. I have lots of other highlighters that works, and I prefer powder highlighters better than liquid/ creams, so maybe, just maybe, I am a little biased about this particular highlighter.

If you are somewhat near my skintone (MAC NC25/30, EDM Matte foundie in Light, Kate Liquid Foundation in OC-C), you can give this a try. If you are very dark, skip this. Don’t think this will work for you. But if you are somewhat near my skintone and don’t own any concealers/ highlighters or are thinking of trying new ones, this is a pretty nice set. I got this set of concealer and highlighter for RM45 in Lowyat.net but the price might vary from seller to seller. Each pen contains 3g worth of product.

Is this a good buy? I’d say it is
