After making you yawn and say “oh how boring” etc with 2 post about my trip in Singapore, I think this the one part where most of you would be excited about, or maybe not.

Excited or not, I will still blog about it because I am excited bout, at least for the few days I was there

The first place we visited was Sephora. And the LARGEST one in Asia.

I haven’t got any pictures, well, Kimmy said to be discreet because they don’t like it? or somewhat. But I think you all can go google a bit for yourself on it, ya?

When they said the LARGEST, I expected it to be really, really, really BIG, but I was quite disappointed because it really didn’t seem that large anyway. One quick walk and I am done looking at almost everything.

I pretty much just took a quick glance of everything and then I just felt, “Oh, so this is Sephora?” It didn’t excite me as much as I thought it would. Maybe I wasn’t really much into makeup shopping at that time. Yeah, I really don’t feel like it that time.

The only thing that I would ever think of buying is the Too Faced Shadow Insurance. It’s priced as SGD28, which is quite decent, although it’s still a bit more expensive than buying it in US or online, but look, you don’t need to pay for shipping, neither you need to wait for it to arrive, quite a good deal ya?

I did find time to play around with Sephora’s in house brand, and I am quite pleased with the stuff they offer. Blushes, to be exact! I bought one after Kimoko recommended one to me It cost me SGD22, not too shabby. And oops, I forgot to take an individual picture! >_<

We headed to Watsons and stayed a while there. It wasn’t huge, but it was crowded!

I spotted these new stuff from Maybelline, definitely not in Malaysia yet Although new, I didn’t test them out though. Not that interested in it anyway.

Now this one I quite like! Angelfit Pore Zero Base, SGD19.90~ It’s matte and leaves a smooth finish. Comes with SPF25 too! Not sure about it’s oil control properties though. Didn’t buy it because I have too many primers and as of late, I don’t do makeup that much, no thanks to my injured finger.

They have Cezanne too, which to me, they are just so-so only. I have got nothing much to say about them. Kimmy and me swatched their eyeshadows and found them chalky, not worth the SGD20.90 at all. Their blushers weren’t impressive either. And with that, I stop swatching every other thing from Cezanne.

I swatched all the Gransenbon available there, and honestly, with the price tag of SGD29.90, they can do much better by improving their texture! They weren’t exactly silky to the touch, and there were a few that were gritty and way too shimmery! I only bought myself 13 Cherry Fromage because that’s a colour which is nice, texture is okay and not too shimmery.

They have Liese and Essential, a new shampoo brand which has lovely lovely fruity smell! I think Kahani and Bee will like this! I have used to shampoo and will review it a bit later I regretted not getting the conditioner too Essential spokesperson is Suzanne (Not fond of her) and 皆藤愛子 Kaitou Aiko (now this is my type!)

They have Bourjois too! I won’t further elaborate since this is quite well known, but I am hitting myself for not getting the blushers! SGD20.90, pretty colours but nothing outstanding. Haha. Contradictive?

I also went to check on Bath & Bodyworks and also Victoria Secret. Retailling at SGD19, I find their fragrance too strong for my liking! I ended up having really stuff nose >_<

And then we head to Guardian.

It’s on sale! SGD2.90 per box! Each box 2 pieces! Cheap! Cheaper than buying in Guardian Malaysia! Of course, don’t compare with the price online ya~ I didn’t see NYX there, but Ryan told me only certain Guardian outlet carries it, and it’s dirty and yucky. Ew. I saw Kose’s Junkisei available there too! Beautiful red packaging, it’s hard to miss it!

Neutrogena Wave Cleanser was there, so was the cleansing oil. Biore’s cleansing oil and a new cleanser (blue bottle, can’t recall the name) is there too. Well, old news I suppose.

I also checked out the new Fasio’s palette at Sasa, to my dismay, it isn’t exactly that great. Good for beginner, nice to have if you collect, on a budget? Get Majolica Majorca. Haha. Enough said.

Sana eyelash curler is all out of stock. I tried a few Sasa, and that’s the answer I got. It’s pretty much the same as our local Sasa, except they do have Tsubaki and Aquair shampoo. Anything else I missed? Oh yeah, they have Kose’s Happy Bath Day range too!

The beauty shopping scene is Singapore is far more extensive than Malaysia, but I don’t have time to record everything down because I am a tourist and hence I need to do touristy stuff, so that’s why I only featured a few stuff here and there. And mind you, it’s not easy taking pictures with SA looking at you like as though I want to steal their stuff!

And my mini mini haul…

Very little right? I am so going back the next time and get myself more! I bet all of you can’t believe it, but believe what you see! I really didn’t buy much!

Finally finished editing the pictures, it isn’t alot, but I’m the lazy type, so naturally, this would take me days to do.

Anyhoooos…

Day 2 20 Sept 2009

Some picture I took in Sentosa~

The Merlion in Sentosa. Look at the blue sky! I wish we had those glorious blue sky on Day 1, because it was hazy that day *cough cough* We went into the Merlion to have a short movie on how Singapore became discovered/ known as Singapore and how did the Merlion came about. I enjoyed the first part, but when the show talked about how the Merlion came about, I felt it was a little lame, and a little boring? No offence, but I think it could have been done better.

We are on top of somewhere, but for the life of me I can’t recall where. I think it was the spin around thingy that lets you view the whole of Sentosa. Sorry, I really can’t remember the name.

Lovely view isn’t it? Like I said, I love the beach, but not the sun. LOL.

Another view of the sea. Kimmy actually said we should go walk that suspension bridge, even though she knows my fear of wobbly areas and heights! Bad girl she is!

We had lunch at Subway and Kimmy called Mag! Mag is so chirpy and cheerful and fun, that I think if I ever see her in the future, we 3 would be having lotsa laughter and not to mention, bitching about makeup! LOL! I was suppose to meet her, but she was busy so another time then

A touristy picture of me! It was sunny that day! Unlike Day 1, where it was hazy! >_<

We went around Sentosa for a bit, but sigh, there wasn’t much really. Fort Siloso is a place, I find it creepy and hence I didn’t want any pictures to be taken, you know, spookiness! Yucks! I don’t want an “unknown” figure showing inside my pictures!

We were in Sentosa almost the whole day, and we wanted to watch Song of The Sea. But crap! Tickets were sold out! Sold out! So next time >_<

Dinner was fun!

We ate local BBQ chicken wings, not much difference than what we have, it’s just SG’s version they put lime instead of honey. And we have Fried Hokkien Mee, but really big prawns and they don’t use dark soya sauce like we do here And oooh! Satay Meehoon! Satay sauce with meehoon and some cuttlefish! Yummmmmms!

Sorry we don’t have any yummlicious food pictures, because we were famished! Eat and gulp down everything! Of course we chatted, lotsa lotsa things!

Day 3 21 Sept 2009

Since our coach is at Vivo City, we went there after we checked out and hang around till it was time to go home Daiso there, is a little, I think Malaysia’s one anytime better, because really, they don’t have any cosmetics there, or maybe it’s too little compared to Malaysia, but they do have Japanese snacks which The Curve lacks, so give and take~

There wasn’t really much to see at Vivo, maybe there were too many people! I never really liked places which are too crowded, all the heat and sweat, ewwwww!

And that’s it! Home sweet home~ Reached KL around 7.30pm Our coach left Singapore at 3, I think. LOL.

*****************************************************************************************

So my thoughts?

Singapore generally is similar to Malaysia, in terms of culture and food and the people, but there are some differences

The streets are cleaner in Singapore, maybe due to the F1. But I think overall, it’s cleaner than what we have in Malaysia.

The girls and guys dresses well in Singapore. Not to say Malaysian dresses badly, but I think we are a bit more casual and don’t really dress up as much as the Singaporeans. And yes, most girls I see wears makeup, both heavy and light.

Food wise, I’ll have to say I like my food over here much better! Their food is a little too light for my taste, maybe I am so used to food stuff which is heavy in taste.

I think the service the Singaporeans provided are a little better than Malaysians, even the lady I encountered in Sasa is really nice and not pushy! Unlike Malaysia’s Sasa! I’m not wanting to say local SAs are lousy, but really, I think they ought to buck up a bit and be a bit more polite and nicer to customer, and please, don’t be pushy!

Overall, Singapore is a nice place to go and do a bit of shopping, but hm, maybe Singapore’s too near to me, I don’t find it that touristy for me, like I said earlier, Singapore and Malaysia are really quite the same. LOL. But I’d go back for their Guardian, Watson, Sasa and of course Sephora anytime!

Kimmy, you still owe me a collage! Ahaha~ I wanna seeeeeeee~

Will be back in Singapore… soon

Finally!

The bf has send me the pictures of our Singapore trip, where we spend 3 days 2 nights with our super nice personal tour guide cum chauffeur, Kimoko!

I won’t be showing pictures of Kim and I that we took (there isn’t many actually and I haven’t gotten her green light on it!), but touristy pictures of Singapore (if it does look like it), hauls and prezzies from Kim and some beauty related stuff pictures will definitely be posted.

Day 1 – 19th September 2009.

Got up at like 4.30am bla bla bla, I arrived in Singapore at 8 something nearing 9am. I can’t remember the exact time. It was wet outside, but inside Changi Airport it was freezing cold! Saw lotsa people and I hurry along. Got lost and asked for directions, and I tell you, damn lady is so rude! While the bf was talking to her, she did not look at him and answer him nicely, all she does was stare into her PC and that’s it. No smile no nothing, hello? You are in the service line and I expect at least a smile? Jeez! Horrible!

Anyway, I meet up with Kimmy after a while, no thanks to bf gave me the wrong directions to head to =_=. And I thought men were great with directions. I guess not. And we exchange prezzie! She is so sweet! See what she got me!

Pretty things that got housed in a clear Stila pouch!

She knows my craze for blushes! The Alabon brand is very very pigmented, and it’ only SGD6.90! For me, it’s more or less the same price like Elianto And the Lilas D’or she got it from lunaface, she’s such a sweetie!

Eyeshadows~ NYX and Canmake! I definitely like the green!

Last but not least, 3 lipglosses on the right, Elizabeth Arden mascara, Elizabeth Arden’s famous Eight Hour Cream and hand cream! Thank you sayang!

About half of the day was spent in Orchard Ion, where we went to the local Guardians, Watsons and Sasa *gasp!* See what beauty does to you. LOL. I’ve got quite a bit to report about my findings in those places, with some pictures to accompany the text, I shall leave that for another post. And oooh! I went to the LARGEST Sephora in Asia too! Tee hee!

The only picture I got without Kim and I for that afternoon is this…

The outside of Ngee An City Store before it got really rainy and we headed inside. Walking around aimlessly for a bit, and then the rain slowed down, so we thought of heading back to the hotel for some rest and continue our touristy stuff during the night.

But we were lucky! Rain stopped! And… the roads around Marina Bay that was supposed to be closed was opened! You know all about the F1 night race in Singapore right? Well yeah! Kimmy was saying we were lucky because it’s usually off limits because of the race, and she thought we wouldn’t be able to get in, but anyhow, we did!

Bweeee! The Merlion! Finally my own shot of the famous Merlion! But I think it would look better if I took a picture of it at night

And there so many people there! And I saw quite a number of people taking the Ducktours! Never in my mind that this type of vehicle could have existed! Sadly no pictures of it, because like I told you earlier, I am not the kind who would take touristy pictures and if my bf didn’t take any, well, so be it But anyway, the Ducktour is a boat plus bus kinda thingy, which it will take you round town on land and sail the seas (wrong expression I know , but what the heck), and honestly, it is NOT cheap! Even Kimmy also said the same thing, so I shouldn’t be wrong. I can’t fork out SDG33 for a Ducktour, but I know for makeup/ skincare I would! LOL!

And oooh! The Integrated Resorts! Here’s how it looks like, uncompleted!

Lotsa coloured cranes doing their job 24/7, hoping to complete the IR by next year! Kimmy keep telling me that the 3 buildings look like tombstones or some Chinese prayer thingy, which, I think is absolutely nuts! She’s got a point there! I myself find it funny, but I hope local Singaporeans don’t go bashing Kimmy or me, for we just say what we think. Everyone has their own opinion, yes?

We can see the Big Durian from here, also known as Esplanade, where Kimmy told me musical plays and theater performance are all done there. If I have the money, I would like to go watch a good play or something at Esplanade. I think that will make me more artsy-fartsy? Tee hee, for the time being, I am happy to just go watch movies!

Just behind the Merlion are those tall looking buildings. Kimmy told me those are where the big guys are, as in the big banks and big corporations. And the juiciest thing, you get to see good look boys in suit, no kidding! taking the MRT everyday to work! Hm, I wonder if they are as good looking as my Hyun Joong, oops, I means Kimmy’s Hyun Joong aka MY Jihoo~ *dreamy eyes*

And something really similar to our Eye of Malaysia!

The Singapore Flyer! It looks much better during the night though During the day, it just look blah!

We took a walk around the area, and here we are! Right in front of Kimmy’s uncles, Stamford Raffles! I am not gonna go into History lessons, I think Google will teach you enough if you do a bit of Googling. This is the original statue, black in colour. The building in front is… er, I can’t remember the name, but it’s an artsy area too, and there was going to be some musical performance in October I think. And the whole place is surrounded by steel wires and fences! You know why, because the F1 racing track is just beside them! Can’t let modern cars destroy old architecture and statue right? Uncle Raffles wouldn’t be too happy.Kimmy told me that in April lightning struck Uncle Raffle’s statue and that’s when they whole share market went down. To her and maybe fellow Singaporeans, that was an ill omen.

Next area, we went to visit Uncle Raffle’s twin.

Tee hee. Located at Boat Quay, this is one of Singapore’s night area, other than Clark Quay. If I drink, then Kimmy would have brought me to Clark Quay, but sadly I don’t, so no point going there. Well, maybe next time

Another random shot of Boat Quay. It kinda reminds me of Melaka, in a way. Maybe it’s the river?

Then we went back to the hotel, after a cup of good old Starbucks. Er, was it before or after? I can’t remember.

And at night, we went for the Night Safari! The first in Asia? I think so!

Blimey camera ran out of batteries when we wanted to take pictures, so stupid right? And they don’t sell batteries! #$^%^&^*&**(*(() So no pictures for the Night Safari, not that we could get any decent picture since it was dimly lit and we weren’t suppose to do any flash photography in order not to disturb the animals.

It was fun riding the tram, and it was pretty cool that night. It even drizzled. >_< And there goes my Creatures of The Night show! It was canceled Me likey the deers because they are so dainty and so pretty! And tigers too! And no, I am not fond of the lions nor the pigs. And silly me, I thought the animals were fake, because they look so calm even when trams and people were passing by. Kimmy were a bit annoyed, because I sound like I got cheated and had to see fake animals =_= But really, I thought they were fake! At least for the first few animals.

And I met some of the most disgusting tourist ever! Totally horrible! We have been warned not to use flash photography in case it disturbs the animals and they might run amok/ go nuts, but those ang moh (westerners), it’s like they can’t understand and still use flash! So so so so so uncivilized! I was pretty much upset because they were like taunting the animals. What if they animals really gone nuts? Hello? We are all in a tram, and should anything happens, are you going to take the blame? And those tourists which I don’t know where they are from because they were siting behind me and I can’t see them because it’s so dark, I think they are Asians judging on how they speak, they were like laughing and making noises like no one’s business! The attendant has already said to keep our voices low, they can’t understand is it? Respect the other tourist and the animals too!

Okay. Ranting over.

We have supper!

Roti prata at Jalan Kayu! I think I giggled quite a bit and Kimmy kept saying I will remember the name for the rest of my life!

Roti prata = roti canai. No difference. It’s the same thing with a different name.

They had all the normal roti we get, like roti pisang, roti telur, roti tissue etc.

But not roti prata ice cream!

It’s basically sweet icy cold ice cream wrapped in roti canai. I am not too fond of this, way to sweet for me! I think I still like my Mushroom and Cheese prata! Yum!

And we gossiped, chat, just talking almost the whole night through… and then we call it a day.

Phew.

Day 2 to come and a summary of what I think of Singapore!
