I know this is a post that’s way way way overdue.

My sincerest apologies aye?

Back to the real business!

The showdown between Urban Decay Primer Potion and Too Faced Shadow Insurance!

UDPP: 10ml, USD17
TFSI: 10.3ml, USD17

Both of these contain a similar amount of primer inside, but because of the packaging, UDPP loses some marks here. Due to the genie bottle design, it is IMPOSSIBLE to get ALL of UDPP that’s left inside the bottle, unless you cut it into half and put it in some air tight container to prevent it from drying, or put into those click-twist-pen brush applicator (think Stila’s lipglaze). TFSI is in a squeeze tube, so it’s possible to use up every single drop of the primer without wasting any stuff, and even if you need to cut it up, it’s not difficult at all! With all that’s said, it’s pretty obvious TFSI won in this category.

However, I wouldn’t really want to say so myself, as I have this problem. My TFSI leaks! >_< The picture says it all!

Wastage! And air gets into the product, making it go bad faster and dries up even faster! And the worst part is, I have no idea since when my TFSI started leaking. >_< Blergh! I hate this! I really had like the squeeze tube packaging, but if this happen, I don’t know if UDPP’s packaging is worse, or TFSI is worse. I can’t quite decide.

Moving on, TFSI has this annoying weird plastic scent which I hate. UDPP have no scent, I’m so glad about this! And I wonder if anyone who uses TFSI have this problem, my TFSI came out some clear, oil-like liquid first before any of the primer comes out. It happened when I just used it for the first time. I don’t know what’s that substance, but it never happen again after the first time. Hm. Thank god UDPP gave me no problems.

TFSI is more of a yellow-peach tone colour which goes on transparent when blended. UDPP is a little bit more of a yellow-pink tone primer which also goes on transparent after blending. TFSI is a little more creamier than UDPP, but the difference is rather subtle. Both feels dry and matte to the touch once blended.

I used the darkest gray colour in T’estimo Gradually Eye palettes in 05 Gray. As usual, Japanese eyeshadows are usually shimmery and pretty sheer (of course there are exceptions), so I thought this would be a good choice to test both UDPP and TFSI’s claim that make eyeshadows more vibrant. You judge yourself from the picture!

I was feeling a little like a mad scientist so I decided to run them over with water. And then tried to RUB THEM OFF. And whaddaya know!

The one without a base is almost gone, while UDPP and TFSI remains strong and vibrant! Woohoo! Now I am very impressed!

And of course, I must give them a good test on my eyes! I must make sure their claim of making eyeshadows stay put on the lids all day long without fading and creasing is TRUE!

Lo and behold!

May 1 2009 at 4.20pm, freshly applied

May1 2009 at 9.10pm, gently rubbed eyes before removing makeup

I am just so thrilled to notice that the fading is minimal, almost close to none and there is NO CREASING on my oily lids at all! Isn’t this wonderful!!!

Some people find that blending eyeshadows over UDPP is a little more difficult, which I think it’s true, and some says blending eyeshadows over TFSI is much easier than blending over UDPP, which I find it not true. To me, both primer makes blending a little more difficult than using the eyeshadow alone. That’s quite a disappointment.

With a simple comparison being made, at this very moment, I think I still like UDPP better, despite the packaging. I hope their new wand will enable us to make full use of UDPP without the need of cutting the bottle into half! Other than that, I like UDPP a little bit more than TFSI because it will not leak. I like TFSI for it being really ‘user-friendly’ but sadly it leaks! Major pet peeve! No leaky stuff please!

Maybe I just got a faulty TFSI, so I am willing to give it a second chance That if I run out of TFSI AND UDPP. LOL. But if you ask me, under normal circumstances, minus the weird smell and leaky packaging, I’ll take TSFI, since I don’t need to wrestle over a tiny bottle just to scrap the goodies out. If only UDPP comes in TFSI’s non leaky squeeze tube, then I will be their BIGGEST LOYAL FAN!

I am feeling a little hardworking today and of course, being able to buy so many stuff recently makes me itch and twitch needing to test them out!

And because it was raining heavily just now, so I did a super simple + quick FOTD.

Image quality isn’t very good and I suck at taking pictures, so please bear with me okay? And please, ignore the bushy brows! I don’t know how to do them! >_<

Hee~ Here goes!

Avon Mousse Blusher – good pigmentation, creamy and smooth. Easy to blend. I use 2 swipes per cheek.

Avon Mousse Eyeshadow in Smooth Peach – Very sheer. Colour can be hardly seen even though layer a few times. Creamy and smooth. Easy to blend. No creasing.

Avon Mousse Eyeshadow in Velvet Taupe - Pigmentation is better than Smooth Peach. Creamy and smooth. Easy to blend. No creasing.

Avon True Luminous Liquid Foundation in Beige Ochre – matches my skintone quite well, coverage sheer to medium. Not drying. Easy to blend.

Majolica Majorca Lash Expander Neo – Lenghtens very well! Did not make my lashes droopy. It seems like it volumizes a little too. Not clumpy.

MAD Indelible Waterproof Gel Line in Marcasite – a beautiful grayish blue with slight hint of shimmer. Waterproof. A little dry but still okay.

Urban Decay 24/7 Concealer in CIA - colour a little too light, but blendable. Feels a little creamy

ELF Super Glossy Lip Shine SPF15 in Watermelon – Good pigmentation, not sticky, looks natural on the lips.

Hello everyone!

How is your Saturday? Finish your shopping? Just started? Or halfway through?

Teehee~

I got myself the Avon stuff I wanted, and boy, am I happy! ^_^ Cheap little darlings that look promising! Wahahahaha!

To cut a long story short, I show you pictures of my Avon loot!

without flash

with flash

The one with flash shows the colour better, I think. Oh silly me, I forgot to actually tell you guys what’s what!

The slim bottle is Avon True Luminous Liquid Foundation, next to it is Avon Mousse Eyeshadow in Smooth Peach, Silken Sand and Velvet Taupe. And I got Ultra Moisture Rich Lipstick in Pale Rose for free! I wanted to get Avon Mousse Foundation since MUA has got good reviews, tested it on my jaw, it’s quite okay, but when applied on the cheeks, it’s cakey and enhances my pores. And everyone wants to hide their pores.

I reckon the mousse eyeshadow will be the same texture as the mousse blusher I bought last week. I tested the blusher and I am quite happy with it Shall post the review soon ya!

And another few pictures to satisfy you girls…

Urban Decay Ammo Palette!!!

Urban Decay Ammo Palette

Look at the gun, shooting out floral patterns! And if you look closely, there’s the signature skull pattern And some part of the patterns are velvet. Looking posh and nice if you ask me. A nice change from the Japanese style of packaging. And oh, it comes with a magnetic clasp that’s quite strong

without flash

This shot shows the colour on the second row better. Closer to real life colour.

with flash

This picture shows the colour of the top row that’s quite close to real life.

close up with flash

And this shot, basically catches everything that’s similar to what I see in real life, except that Grifter is slightly pinkier in real life.

And my 24/7 concealer is a bit crooked, but I think it should be fine. Not that it’s broken or anything And I need to test out Urban Decay Primer Potion. Hm… should I wait till I get Too Faced Shadow Insurance and put to a contest?

Should I even get Too Faced Shadow Insurance? Or UDPP will do? Any ideas? Let me know!

And before I end this post, I have to tell you guys something.

I went to Watsons yesterday again after work. Yes yes, I wanted to buy more Shadow Customize. But when I got there, there was no one attending. So I asked another lady.

me: hi, i want to buy some Majolica stuff.
lady A: i’m not in charge of this counter.
me: is there anyone else?
lady A: she went back dy la~ and the counter all lock.
me: er… okay.

I turned my back leaving. Isn’t it weird? It’s only 7pm, and there are so many people around! How come only one SA for MJ? Others cannot sell Majolica Majorca? So weird!

And the best part…

The lady-look-a-like guy said “Come again tomorrow la! Earlier a bit okay!”

Seriously, LOL!!!!!!

A lovely, lovely parcel for me!!!!

Actually I got it on Tuesday. But I totally forgot to blog about it.

Nevermind. Better late than never blog right?

And here’s the parcel… unwrapped!

I took this picture at home, after I finish work. I can’t be showing everyone in the office my loot right? That’d be insane!

Hee~

I got myself 3 brushes. The left one is from Coastal Scents, the Deluxe Buffer brush. I tested it on the back of my hand and it’s soft, not scratchy and not pokey at all. And there’s no strong smell, just a little which I can ignore.

The 2 brushes are from Posh. Both of them comes with a black velvet pouch, which just scream “ELEGANT!” all the way. Anyway, the black hair brush is a blush brush, which is soft, not scratchy or pokey. It’s quite tiny in size, comparing with my other brushes. I haven’t tried using it with blushers, so I can’t say how will it perform.

And the white hair one is the angled blush brush. I know I am crazy to buy so many blusher brush. But for me, it’s a staple! I can never have too many blusher brushes because it’s the one brush I use each and everytime I make up! Anyway, first glance it looks scratchy and pokey. But it’s rubbish. It feels just like the black one. But can’t say how it will perform with blushers

And yes, I splurge on Urban Decay’s Ammo Primer Set, which the rectangular thingy holds 10 eyeshadow shades from Urban Decay and including a FULL size Urban Decay Primer Potion! Woot! Good loot I say!

And to finish this off, I also bought Urban Decay 24/7 Concealer in CIA. I just had to get this because Izzy said it’s good and so I got it!

I haven’t got time to wash the brushes nor test the colours and stuff, so it will have to wait till this weekend for me to clean and test them. If everything goes well, a review on them should be out in a week or two. Erm… maybe three?

I have so many things to review, and my list keeps piling T_T Blame me or my work, which leaves me like half dead each time I go home.

I bought everything from Ryan aka sgDrugstore in Lowyat.net. Sprees are quite frequent, so just keep an eye on it. Or should I notice you girls when there’s a spree going on?

Let me know!

Shall sign off for now. Toodles!
