Everyday Minerals Matte Foundation & Flat Top Brush

Forgive me for procrastinating, but I haven’t got any motivation to blog lately.

Not sure is it because the lack of readers? Or the lack of comments? Or whatever it is.

Anyway, I had mentioned bout a foundation review in my last entry, and I hope you girls will find this useful. :)

This is my first mineral foundation, which I bought quite a while back before the Maybelline mineral foundation.

Suitable for normal/combination skin

Coverage – light to medium

Finish – matte

Flawless, pure, fast and fun, simply so soft, wears so long and so light! Everyday Minerals’ Matte Foundation keeps skin radiant without shine.
Mica, Titanium Dioxide, Zinc Oxide, Iron Oxides. May contain: Ultramarines

Golden – Light
is ideal for light to medium complexions with gentle golden undertones. Makes a great summer shade for fair skin!

A swatch of the foundation. Pretty light huh? With a beige-y yellow tone. I don’t see much of a gentle golden undertone though, but uh, I maybe colour blind and needs to be educated on colours. Ahaha!

The colour matches my skintone pretty well, albeit a little fairer than my neck. Heck, my neck is 1/2 to 1 tone darker than my face, so no matter what shade I use, it’ll always be lighter than my neck! If I use a colour that’s a match for my neck, I think I’ll scream for the life of me when the foundation oxidizes and becomes darker than what it should be! Even if it doesn’t oxidize much, it’ll make my face look, uh… not as pretty. Ahaha. So, I still use foundation that’s a match for my face! Even if it oxidizes, it will still look more natural on me than a darker one. Or, do you girls have any suggestion or comments on this?

Off topic. =_=

Look at the foundation colour on my face, it doesn’t differ a lot. Maybelline in N00 Very Light Ochre gave me a more yellowish cast while this is pretty neutral on me. Coverage wise as you can see, it evens out the ruddiness on my cheeks and it does help to minimize the discolouration on my upper eyelids. And my freckles are pretty much invisible right now. And I did not blot my face prior to applying the foundation. I just sweep the foundation right away and hello matte skin! But it’s not really that matte, there’s a certain glow on my face. Tee hee. I like! Awesome huh!

And the powder is finely milled and blends very well. It makes my skin smooth and nice.

However, I noticed that on days I have skin drier than usual, this tends to flake a little, especially around the mouth area and the lower part of my cheeks and sometimes, a little bit on my forehead too. But I won’t complain too much about this, since this is meant for normal/ combination skin which I think it meant for oily skin types. So make sure you load up on moisturizers, let it sink into your skin before putting this foundation on to avoid it being flakey and patchy! And be sure not to overdo this or apply more powder to set it, might make it too heavy although this is pretty much a lightweight foundation.

The mineral foundation can be bought from Lovingminerals.com for RM48. It contains 5.5g product packaged in a 25gm jar. Let me tell you this, because the foundation’s coverage is pretty good (at least for me it is), you need very little each time you use, so do expect this foundation to last you a long while!

Oh, the brush that I usually use to apply the foundation is this… I can’t apply this with a sponge or fingers, can I?

EDM’s famous flat top brush!

Unbelievably soft and incredibly dense, this flat top brush is the ultimate multi-tasker. From foundation to finishing powder, its plush and luxurious synthetic fibers provide the perfect coverage, resulting in a flawless finish every time!

Taken from Lovingminerals.com

It’s worth every penny, I tell you. It’s dense enough to pick up enough powder, buffs really well, super super soft due to it’s synthetic fibers, no shedding or weird smell, and no fray/ stray hairs! I feel like picking up a backup for this brush, to be honest, as this brush takes a while to dry due to it’s density.

And it does help to provide a really natural finish with a nice coverage without foundation looking thick and cakey!

This brush can be bought from Lovingminerals.com at RM39. Snatch it when you see it, because this baby goes OOS really fast!

I highly recommend Lovingminerals as they provide really good service and are always fast in responding emails. They are really helpful too! They do offer COD services too, so please be sure to check theirb website for the dates and places!

Now, I need to go check which other shades of foundation in Lovingminerals would suit me, since I am still on a lookout for the one foundation that matches my face and neck! Ahak!

i heard better reviews for lumiere than edm in terms of foundie
thou i have never tried edm’s foundie, i feel lumiere doesn’t control oil very well, coverage is very light, and its not long lasting.
on the other hand, im so lucky to win myself a full size edm blusher which i absolutely adore. its so darn perfect.

That foundie looks good on you!!

I have mine in Fairly Light under the beige family. Had gotten Golden medium as well, but its slightly too dark on me. lol. In fact you can’t really tell that there’s a golden undertone, until you put both the powders side by side, only than I could tell that Golden family..is well, quite yellow. lol.

I lurve that brush!!!~~ Can never do without it! Its super soft and dense!

Very tempted to try Lumiere minerals at lovingminerals.com as well. lol.

    Nikki: Thank you! :D

Lynn: I have not tried Lumiere, so I can’t compare. I won’t say EDM gives very good oil control either, they are just okay at best for oil control.

Jenn: Yala! Will have to lor, my skintone uneven between neck n face!

Zwala: Do give them a try if u get the chance :D

    Traclyn: yeap! It does :)

Renz: I doubt I can take anything too yellow! Beige with a bit of pink would be best on me, I think.

Eru: Aw, maybe another brand would work for you? Or typically all mineral doesn’t work?

Pretty: Aiyo, kan waste money? But it’s a good idea lor!

Pinky: Nope, my flat top doesn’t shed at all, but my kabuki does a little. But it doesn’t really bug me la. Perhaps try asking llyncia? She maybe able to help you on that :)

Pinky: I understand where you are coming from, but I think if it sheds a little that’s normal, after a few washings it will stop :) Usually that does the trick
