Reader’s Request: Chacott Loose Powder in 753

Hello everyone!

Sorry for not updating as regularly as I would like, month end already and I got 3 reports on hand need to submit by Friday :(

And I’m sick. Fever, flu, cough, sore throat. Bad. :(

Anyway, xianyin and xobiianca both has requested for a review on Chacott Loose Powder, and after using it for quite a bit, here goes!

Photobucket

One HUGE tub of loose powder! I don’t use directly from here, I decant it into a smaller tub. I think it’s more hygenic. :) So the picture is just for illustration purposes. But the brush isn’t! We’ll come back for the brush later, okay?

Photobucket

The powder is very finely milled. No fragrance or what so ever. And yes, the powder is white in colour! Doesn’t it reminds you of baby powder?

Anway, the shifter is USELESS. Really. It’s really flimsy. It’s just a sheet of plastic. If you want to use this particular shade of loose powder, please don’t use this with a powder puff. You will be so pale and white!

Good for Halloween! LOL!

Photobucket

And here’s a swatch to show you how “white” this is! But don’t worry, just a quick buff will make it go translucent :)

As you can see, this shade offers absolutely NO coverage. Don’t buy this colour if you want something with coverage. I’ve heard other shades offer coverage, but I don’t have those colours. I am thinking of getting another Chacott with coverage, but it’s on the pending list. :) I don’t need too much loose powder. And if my base, foundation/ BB cream and concealer does the job well, I don’t need an extra layer of coverage, do I? :P

Upon application, skin feels smooth and velvety, and it’s very very light weight. You don’t feel anything on the skin, unless you put them on in bulk. :P Oil control is just so-so, nothing to really rave about, maybe it’s because Biore is doing it’s job really well, so, the oil control effect is not as great as I heard.

Anyway, it doesn’t accentuate fine lines or makes my skin go dry. I think it’s a decent loose powder. And for the price I bought for 170g, I think it’s pretty okay!

But 170g is really HUGE, even if you make up everyday, you won’t be able to finish this in months. :P I gave some away to Connie and Carmen, and decanted some into another container, but I still have somewhat the same amount of powder that I had when I just received this!

Now, since I don’t recommending using a powder puff for this loose powder, what do I use then?

Brushes of course!

Remember the brush you saw in the first picture? Yeap! That’s the kabuki brush I’m using!

I got the brush from Faye. Click *here* on how I got the brush.

Photobucket
La Mei La Kabuki Brush

It’s quite small, but not as small as CS Pink Kabuki Brush. It’s quite comfortable to use too! I mean, it fits my hand just nice :)

It’s really soft! Super soft! The softest brush I’ve ever owned! No brush can beat it’s softness!

It’s not as dense as CS Pink Kabuki, but the density is better than CS Silver Duo Stippling Brush. I forgot to say that the brush is made out of synthetic hair :)

I’ve washed once before I used it, no shedding or bleeding. Way better than CS Silver Duo Stippling Brush. :P

I’m thinking of buying a backup for this brush! Ah! I love it to bits!

Should I? Or Should I not? That’s the decision to be made.
