I love DKNY Red Delicious. It smells sweet, yet mature. A great one for a lovely, cozy night out with someone special or with a few friends. Even if you wear it during the day, it feels sensual, it makes you feel like a real woman with a hint of fun and sweetness. All in all, I love the smell and the red apple bottle.

I love this purple apple too, but only the packaging.

The smell? I find it too strong and sharp. I have a difficulty in breathing after taking a whiff of it. I thought it was me, but a few others around me find it not very pleasant too.

Here’s the description of the smell:

The “sexy floriental” fragrance opens with frozen pomelo, crushed ginger and a chilled blackberry martini accord. The heart features purple freesia, night-blooming orchids, satin jasmine petals and purple iris. The scent’s drydown is of molten amber, incense, myrrh extract, patchouli and velvet vetiver.

And after reading this, I now know why I don’t quite like it and find the smell strong. Crushed ginger. Of all things, why that? >_<

Anyway, I’ve got some of the EDP sprayed onto a piece of paper and kept it in my bag. The smell lasted till now as I type this post. And still very strong. I noticed the sharp strong well is slowly disappearing, leaving a musky incense like scent which is mixed up with all the other ingredients. This is much better than the first whiff but still, I don’t quite like this. In fact, it reminds me of the similar type of smell from the perfume or whatever it is that my uncle use. Something strong, something that’s rather masculine.

A definite letdown from DKNY, because I love Red Delicious so much and I expected this Delicious Night to be something really, really sexy and sensual with a slight tinge of sweetness in it. But it’s just too strong.

I’m not a girl, not yet a woman. I guess I’m not right for this perfume.
