The above description is taken from Philip’s website.

I had a hard time choosing which to get, Panasonic or Philips.

Panasonic has the ionity thing, Philips don’t. Philips has ceramic coating, Panasonic don’t. Awful isn’t it? And because no one could really provide me reviews with Panasonic’s straightener, so I decided to take Philips, because Chian Li, a darling, has been using Philips and told me it’s a decent product, so off I go buying that!

There’s a few more straighteners available from Philips, one is SalonStraight Essential, more or less the same as the one I bought, but slimmer in size, cheaper and NO temperature control. Total bummer. Another one SalonStraight Want2Move, didn’t bother much with this, I didn’t like the packaging. There’s another 1 or 2 more, I can’t remember, and the website doesn’t show anything about it, so it’s best go to a electrical appliance shop to check.

Anyway, back to the topic, it comes with a temperature control. Good thing it did. If it’s fixed, either the temperature would be too hot and fries my hair, or it’s not hot enough to do a good job of straightening my hair. And it’s real quick in heating up! Splendid! Of course, you don’t expect it to heat up the moment you on it, so be patient a little and wait for 30 seconds to 1 minute. :D

For my first try, I used the lowest temperature. Even in it’s lowest temperature, it was able to tame my thick and stubborn hair! Frizzes were minimize to it’s best. Love it!

When you straighten your hair, you wouldn’t want your straightener to snag at your hair would you? Well, for this case, as the plates are coated with ceramic, there’s no snagging, no pulling, just lovable shine and smooth finish! How can you not LOVE this?

I did this on Thursday morning, it left my hair smooth and with more shine than normal, hair is definitely straighter and the best part, all of these last till NOW as I’m typing this entry! A BIG HEART from me!

I’m not bothered with the swivel cord, it’s not as important as it would be as on a curling iron. I don’t care for the auto shutoff, because I off it when I’m done using it. I don’t care about the dual voltage, because I don’t go overseas. Not in the near future anyway.

Now, for the price (RM168, in Jaya Jusco), it’s a bit pricey, but hey think! For all the lovely things it do to your hair, and I expect this straightener to last for a few years, that is if it’s in good hands (no dropping on the floor or hard knocks and bumps), it’s definitely a GOOD INVESTMENT!

Ah~ I love my hair so much!

Great to hear that you like it :D

Mine is only the lower end product of Philips, so I’m sure yours must be really good!

I find Philips’ products nice and affordable, compared to other brands.
I’m also using their ionic hair dryer LOL

it caused me a headache between those two too.

    both are ionic hair dryer

    both also got temperature control

but philips’ has one extra feature:max 57 degree celcius, which will not cause our hair to overdry :)
