You know, Connie and Carmen among others out there call me the crazy-but-lazy-makeup-collector. Hey, that somehow rhymes!
Anyway, I just wanted to share my view on ELF Healthy Bronzing Powders.
Not just only Luminance, but Warm Tan and Sun Kissed too! Complete with a simple swatch!
Is it a yay or nay from me? Read on!
I’ve tried to capture the shades as accurately as possible, and this is the closest match to what I see with my own eyes.
As you can see,Luminance is the lightest among all three. It’s a pretty peach gold colour. A totally lovely highlight colour, especially for those who have slightly tan to tan skins. Even fairer girls can pull this off, just be light handed.
As for Warm Tan, I can’t wear it on my face. Too dark. It’s a pretty chocolatey brown with hints of gold in it. Shimmery as well too. I’ll be using this as my eyeshadow, maybe as a bronzer if I get tan, which I highly doubt so. I’ll figure out a way to make it work somehow!
Sun Kissed is a very flattering colour, it can be used as a blusher or a highlighter or as an eyeshadow! It’s a really uber sweet shimmery peach-pink-gold colour! Reminds me of Stila’s Kitten!
The colours are pretty, and it’s really cheap! Hey, it’s only USD1!
What’s there not to like?
But no, I dislike a few parts of it. Three parts to be exact.
First, the powder is packed too loosely. Just a light swipe and you see ‘dust’ flying all over. Ugh. Wastage.
Second, the packaging sucks! It’s pretty hard to open, and I nearly broke my nails trying to get it open! I felt like I was doing arm wrestling!
Third, I have rather large pores (blame the oily skin) and if I don’t do my base properly, it settles into my pores making them looking bloody obvious. So unless I have foundation on, I won’t be using these powders.
And that concludes my thoughts.
And the ingredient list!
Do you have these powders? Or any powder highlighters or bronzers you think I should know?
Share your thoughts with me!

its too bad the bronzer works more like a highlighter.
im a no no for highlighter as of now.
no shimmers for me cause im too afraid of the disco ball look
i do love contours. luckily i didnt add this to my list. *yikes*

It’s so powdery. But the shimmer is just perfect I think. Too bad I have too many highlighters already. Thanks for the swatches!

Lynn: As long as you are light handed, you won’t become a disco ball.
Lisa: I hardly have any highlighters! Am still on the search

I *loved* Luminance so mush so I bought another one!! It’s so pretty as a highlighter! I recently bought Sunkissed, such a pretty color as blush but hardly came up on my skin. I reckon Warm Tan would be too dark, no? I like dark-ish bronzers to contour, but that needs a matte bronzer. I wish they weren’t so powdery and less fragile! My Gawd, but do they shatter easily!!

Puss: Warm Tan is really dark! I won’t recommend it to fairer girls, but those with darker skintones should be okay. I need matte bronzers to contour too, shimmery is just crazy! Yeah, they are really powdery! And like you said, fragile too! I am so worried whenever I go travelling and bringing them around, cuz i worry they will shatter into pieces. Ugh.
