Reader’s Request: Majolica Majorca Skin Lingerie OD Control

Since I’ve used quite a few times with this, I think I can do a review on it?

Addy, your wish has been granted! :D

It’s gel-cream like, more towards gel, than a cream, and feels really lightweight. And not forgetting that it is not sticky too. What a delightful moisturizer… NOT! This is NOT a moisturizer, no matter how the cream look and feels like.

It is a makeup base, or a makeup primer, before you put on foundation.

It goes on translucent, and it is very easy to spread due to it’s texture. There’s no smell, I don’t remember sniffing any, so I think it’s good for those who are sensitive to it.

Because it goes on translucent, it offers no coverage at all. It does not even out your skintone or concealing any flaws, but it just do what it says it will do for your face, or should I say, foundation?

Oil control makeup base. Use before foundation to help skin stay fresh and matte.

First thing I notice when I applied this on, nothing about my skin changes. Or concealed. But my pores seems to be filled in a little. Not as big? Somewhat.

Fine. I put on BB cream or foundation.

It goes on smooth. I think because the base prepares the skin nicely, setting it up as a smooth canvas, so everything goes on smoothly. No patchiness, or extra buffing. Sometimes I need to buff a little bit more with foundation or BB cream. Don’t know why.

Oil control is decent. I don’t expect my skin to be matte free after 4 hours, that’d be crazy! There’s some slight shine, but my foundation/ BB cream is looking quite the same like how I put it on. And I think it slowed down the oxidization of the BB cream/ foundation on me! :D Me like!

This is a good base to use, for people who’s worried of drying bases or too oily bases. I think it should work fairly well on all skin types, unless you have extremely dry or oily skin and wish this works like a miracle, then no. It won’t :)

I would like to buy this again, since it’s pretty cheap and does the work quite well. I only hope it don’t go DC! Praying hard!

  3. LOL! i’m glad the post helped you!

hm, i dun feel any coldness, or anything. but maybe due to it’s texture, if it’s slightly cooling, i think that’s okay~

with 5 at the best, i’d give it a 5 stars! The price, quantity and quality is worth the price :)

  4. I love this makeup base so far- it’s cheap and affordable. I usually go for “higher-end” brands because my skin is very sensitive, but this works like a charm for me! Makeup really does go on smooth and lasts longer, not to mention making your skin look healthy too ;)

I’m praying hard that it never gets DC either! :(

  5. Steph: Higher brands doesn’t mean it’s definitely suitable for sensitive skin though. I’m already allergic to soo many high end products: Estee Lauder Color Pop Gloss, Dior Eyeshadows, Dior Eye Makeup Remover, Shu Uemura Deepsea Moisture Lip Serum (You some more ask me buy, Plue! Itchy ah! :p), All Benefit lipglosses, Benefit Dear John face cream… to name a few.

  6. Connie: Oh dear! I didn’t know that honestly. I personally choose to stick to “safe” brands for facial makeup- like Chanel and Shiseido mainly and check the ingredients and do research on the product thoroughly before committing :x Estee Lauder’s eyeliner worked fine on me too… thankfully. I’m not that adventurous because of that reason sadly :(
