After the review on the toner and essence, time for the cream to make an appearance! ^_^
I’ll be comparing this with Loreal Hydrafresh Aqua Gel, because both of this are similar to each other, just like Loreal’s Hydrafresh Essence and Garnier’s Essence.
Texture wise, it’s slightly thicker than Loreal’s gel cream. Although I think most people would think that both are pretty much the same in terms of texture, testing it on the hand I will have to agree, but on the face not so.
Loreal’s runnier and hence, easier to spread, while Garnier is a wee bit thicker but it still spreads out nicely, just that it’s a bit thicker. The smell of this moisturizer is just plain delicious! And the yellow toned light green is lovely too! Haha! Being a little artistic here
With Garnier, I notice that it gives me a slight glow and dries down to a semi matte finish in about 5 minutes? It’s not oily or sticky either. While using Loreal, I do notice the drying time to a semi matte finish is slightly longer and uh, it still remains a wee bit sticky. But no complains here!
I usually use this together with the Essence as I am someone who’s in the aircon room from 8am till 7pm, and I am always worried my skin dries out. My heels are, really. >_< So with both essence and moisturizer, I feel much safer to know that my skin is moisturized and hydrated properly.
This gel cream goes RM17.90 and it’s much cheaper than Loreal!
By the way, no alcohol denat here!
So, other than the Garnier Aqua Defense Fresh Non Stop Moisturizing Body Lotion which totally sucks (at least for me it is!), the whole range is definitely worthy of our hard earn money! Well, at least for the toner, essence and moisturizer.:)
Anyone tried their Eyes Roll On or the facial wash? Let me know if you did try it!
Maybe you can tempt me? Tee hee!

plue! thanks for the review! i’m considering on getting one d~

Yay… non-sticky is definitely a must for me. But I think I’ll be getting the essence first since I just bought a new moisturizer.

Chian Li: You are welcome!
Irene: Haha! Which new moisturizer you bought?

I have super oily skin.
I shall give this product a try since it is cheap.
I am currently using Clinique Moisture Surge which cost me RM160…

I bought this moisturizing gel cream 2 weeks ago and I’m pretty much disappointed. =( I have combination skin which is a tad oily in T-zone and I thought this would works for me but in fact it leaves sticky feel on my skin even though I’m sitting in air-con office from 8.30am to 5.30pm. It feels worse while I wait for the ktm to go home and I can feel the sticky oily feel when I brush my cheek area with my fingers. I used Loreal Hydrafresh Aqua Gel before (repurchase another 1 so total 2 jars) and it works fine for me. Maybe this Garnier Aqua Defense Moisturizing Gel Cream just not my cup of tea. Thinking to give it to my little sister’s friend as my sister cannot use it too as she has sensitive and oily skin, so it will be more oily if she use it. Hopefully it suits the sister’s friend!

Janice: Sorry to hear it didn’t work out for you, but this is a bit thicker than Loreal’s, so maybe that’s why. Maybe you can try using a smaller amount of the cream if you find it sticky and a little too oily for you. Usually I use only 2 pea size for my entire face, focusing more on my cheeks than my T zone and chine
I hope this works better for your sister’s friend!

Hi there!
Thanks for the reviews on the Garnier Products. i’ve tried Garnier light moisturizer (yellow), Garnier Lift moisturizer (red) and this moisturizer (green) and i msut say i love them all. the scents are delightful, as u said
But somehow i tend to wonder how it finishes so fast! There’s once it seems like it evaporates the whole jar within 3 days! (don’t know why and don’t know if it’s because i’ve put it in the car for too long). but aside, it’s great!
reason i’m reading ur reviews was that my face tend to swell and itch around the eye and cheek area around the time i switched to new products which were Loreal Pure Zone Toner & Organic Ad Vitamin E Moisturizing Cream. I’ve used to had bad history with Loreal line as it stung my skin real bad on the first usage. But got it as were thinking of trying it again after many years.
What say you? Do you think Loreal is still bad for me? Do you encounter the same experience?

Daisy: hello! Hm, I do really suspect that the heat made the moisturizer to evaporate, as they do contain water in it, especially the Green version. Loreal Pure Zone is nice only for your oily T zones and chin, but I find it horrible on my cheeks. It did stung a little as it contains salicylic acid if I am not mistaken and that might irritate you if you have sensitive skin, and eye area are pretty delicate, so that might be the cause. Vit E cream should be alright, but maybe you should stay away from Loreal. But if you are game on trying it again, I suggest you do a test patch first and see how it reacts. Don’t change your other skincare, slowly introduce it and see if it works
Myself am staying away from Pure Zone range as it made my already oily skin even shinier than usual, so that’s a big no no for me
Do let me know if you have any other queries, will try my best to answer! ^_^

Thanks for the prompt reply and ur advices definitely rings a bell & it helps : ) this is because :
a) Yes, loreal’s toner contains acid!! n lots of alcohol in them! not good.
b)yes, my skin is very very sensitive, even more the delicate eye area!
thanks for the reminder! wouldn’t 1 2 use loreal anymore in my life
hehe.
thx again!

Daisy: LOL! No problem! Loreal are okay if you have normal skin, but if sensitive, better not that the risk

the essence is much lighter than the gel cream, so I think it should be ok for oily skin
