I have used this on a daily basis as my normal-end-of-the-day cleanser. I can honestly tell you, I rather like it. :)

Based on close to almost 2 weeks of usage, I think it’s time to review this. :P But I’m breaking it into 2 parts, as a normal cleanser and as a makeup remover.

As a normal-end-of-the-day-cleanser

As the name implies, I use this to clean my face after work. I usually slab on moisturizer and sunscreen only, so I don’t really need to clean much. This works really, really well. You only need a pump or two onto a cotton pad, and gently wipe it across your face. Rinse with water and that’s it! Clean, smooth face! Do note that the scent is a little funny, a little plastic-ky or chemical though, nothing of a floral/ fruity note that I am so used to. >_< This is a little annoying to me, as I like something lightly scented, but since it does the job well, I'm kinda okay with it.

As makeup remover

This is where it gets tough. It said very clearly that it will be able to remove waterproof makeup, but sadly, it DID NOT remove any of my MJ mascara at all! Not even with a full 30 second-1 minute of pressing the cotton pad onto my eyes worked! Even with a gentle rubbing and wiping couldn’t get rid of it! >_< I am so so so disappointed! But it removed my base makeup and lippie well, took about 3 cotton pads to clean the whole face.

For the ultimate question, will I repurchase this?

I’m sitting on the fence actually, a yes and a no. Yes, because it works well as a normal cleanser, no because I think it failed to perform well as a makeup remover. Honestly, I might as well just stick to my trusty ZA cleansing oil for the whole makeup removal process!

It’s now available in Watson Midvalley for RM30.90, other than in Sasa, RM34.90. It’s cheaper to buy in Watson, but I don’t really recommend this product if you want a makeup remover that removes EVERYTHING. Even if you wish to purchase this as a normal cleanser, I think you have better choice out there. Really, don’t waste the money for something that could have performed better.

I had loved this, but now… sigh. :(

  2. plue.
    im just wondering.
the ZA deep cleasing oil right
means i just wash my face with it
instead of using my normal cleanser is it?
or must i wash with my normal cleanser first then continue with the ZA?

ooo. and this product’s bottle looks very cool.

  3. Hi Plue,

I’m with you on this, its good as a cleanser in general – but does not perform very well at removing makeup.

And I definitely dont like the taste. its not that i drank it – but it left a very bitter taste on the lips and it does not go away even after washing :(

  5. Nikki: yeap! We do want the same stuff most of the time! LOL I would love to read your thoughts on this too! :D

Lynn: U use the ZA cleansing oil first, if you find it oily or uncomfortable, den use another mild cleanser to clean one more time. I find that washing off with ZA once is enough :)

Nea: I didn’t had the bittery taste, maybe din put enuff on my lips. LOL :P

Pretty: I am always tempted to buy n try new stuff, bad for pocket, but when I think of it, i think it’s kinda nice in a way you know yourself n ur skin better :P

  6. thanks for the review, lots of people have been raving about it but luckily i haven’t bought it yet. :P anyway, to cleanse off base m/u, is this the only step you take? do you have to follow up with a regular face wash or does it feel clean enough already?

i’m only looking for something to take off sunscreen and loose powder at the end of the day, cos my regular face wash doesn’t do it well. (:

  7. Feeyona: If my MU base is thick, then I usually clean my face one more time with a cleanser, just to be safe.

But if it’s just sunscreen and powder, it’s more than enuff to clean them off :) At least that’s for me.

  8. I saw a couple of Mandom Cleansing Express Sebum reviews b4, mainly not satisfied as makeup remover. For RM30.90 to use as a normal cleanser, most probably I'll stick back to HABA Squa Facial Soap which is RM49.90 & it works really well for me. I did a review on tis soap so if any1 interested to know more, pls visit my blog.

  10. eh, wanna ask u, does it leave a tight feeling after using it?

I don’t quite trust cleanser that can removes all skincare + makeup altogether. I still prefer using cleansing oil and cleanser (double cleanse) remove all the dirt entirely. scare it clogs my big pores. LOLz. -_-

  11. Sue: no tight feeling, but I feel better if I rinse off with water, otherwise, it’s like as though I put moisturizer already… which I find it weird la :P

I think after this, i better go back to cleansing oil and cleanser dy… :P

  14. I bought a bottle!! YAAY! The Moist one – not that my skin is dry. I like it!! I use to use MAC’s Cleanse Off Oil, but dont have the stomach to fork out that much moolah again. So Mandom is perfect! A nice change from oil cleansers. But I still go over with Makeup cleansing tissues before I wash again with my normal cleanser. And my skin can breathe again! This one’s a keeper!

  15. Wow…My Mandom cleansing works well on me!! I dunno why it helps me remove my MJ mascara better than my elianto makeup remover. ^^
