Mandom Deep Current Facial Wash

This post is for dear Chian Li whom has always been coming and leaving comments on my posts. Thanks for the support! :D

Anyway, back to this cleanser. This is a Japanese brand and has been around for quite some time. I remember seeing this brand during my high school years.

This cleanser is meant for dry skin and claims to contain deep sea water and its minerals to help cleanse our skin and providing moisture.

Well, I don’t really buy the providing moisture claim because to me, cleansers are cleansers, they don’t stay long enough on the skin to provide that extra moisture boost or any other nutrients or goodies that are packed with it. If I really want those stuff, I might as well invest in a good serum/essence and moisturizer to make sure all the goodies are lock into the skin.

Make any sense?

So for me, I go for cheap cleansers that doesn’t dry me out, doesn’t give me breakouts, and can get rid of the dirt on the skin effectively.

And of course, I go for drugstore brands! :P

Okay, cut the crap. This cleanser is in light blue paste, it’s less foamy than Neutrogena Deep Clean Foaming Cleanser and Pure & Mild White Brightening Cleansing Foam. It has a light ocean-y smell, don’t worry, no salty smell there! In fact it’s very fresh and it’s a nice change from fruity or floral scents.

I use in the morning. I’ve tried a few times using it at night, but I’m quite disappointed with it’s performance. It does not cleanse as well as Neutrogena Deep Clean. Well, maybe because it was never labeled as deep cleansing, unlike Neutrogena. But for morning use, yes, it’s just perfect! My skin feels very soft after cleansing and it’s not drying. I would say it’s on par with Pure & Mild which I used to use. And surprisingly, although this is meant for dry skin, it does not make my skin go oilier or feels weird at all. I know I have combination skin, but depending on the weather and everything, my skin can be a combination towards dry or towards oily.

This cleanser comes in 5 different formulas, green tea, grapefruit, clay, charcoal essence and deep sea. Green tea, grapefruit and clay is meant for oily skin, charcoal to reduce dead skin cell and while deep sea is for dry skin. I know there’s one or two of it comes in scrub form, while the others are normal cleansers.

Currently I am eyeing on grapefruit (smells yummy!), charcoal and clay. But I can’t buy so many cleansers! It’s too much! :P Maybe the next time, if I haven’t found anything else I like. Hehe~

Anyway, here is my rating for the 3 cleansers I have been using.

Cleansing
1. Neutrogena Deep Clean
2. Pure & Mild Brightening Cleanser
3. Mandom Deep Sea Current

Scent
1. Mandom Deep Sea Current
2. Pure & Mild Brightening Cleanser
3. Neutrogena Deep Clean

Foaminess
1. Neutrogena Deep Clean
2. Pure & Mild Brightening Cleanser
3. Mandom Deep Sea Current

Would I buy this again? Yes, and of course grapefruit, charcoal and clay. :)

It’s too cheap to resist! And not to mention the fact that it’s quite a decent cleanser! :D

anyway, the neutrogena deep clean that you are talking about is the liquid or the foam cleanser?

i like foamy moisturizing cleansers cuz they make your skin feel soft and comfortable, not tight and dry^^
