I had been wanting to try this ever since I read this on Paris’s blog. But with the amount of skincare I have on hand, I knew it would be impossible to introduce this into my skincare routine.
So after my Loreal Hydrafresh finished, I went on using Sana’s moisturizer, that also finished, so I decided to get Olay. And it was on discount! A major one too! Lucky me!
I got the normal one, without SPF. I don’t think I need the SPF since I have Biore sunblock. And SPF15 in Malaysia? Hello! That’s not enough! And the reason I got this instead of other brands, I thought it’s time to introduce some anti-ageing into my skincare routine as I am approaching the 25 yeard old mark soon… in 2 years time! Better start now before my wrinkles start showing!
This is what Olay promises:
1. Line Minimization: Reduces the appearance of fine wrinkles
2. Nourishing Moisturization: For a radiant, healthy glow
3. Tone Enhancement: Balances color & reduces appearance of age spots
4. Gentle Exfoliation: Smoothes and evens skin texture
5. Pore Refinement: Minimizes the appearance of pores
6. Free Radical Defense: Helps prevent damage to skin’s surface
7. Subtle Lifting: Hydrates for firmer skin appearance
Did it deliver? Let’s see!
I’ve got no fine wrinkles, well not yet, so no idea on this. It does moisturize my skin and gives me a healthy glow, without the oily look! Me like!
However, I’m not sure if it even’s out my skintone and reduces my spots. Not sure if I have age spots, but I do have freckles. So far, it hasn’t been reducing, but certainly no new ones popping up. Might be my sunblock, but then again, maybe it’s not.
I find it didn’t contribute much to smoothing out my skin texture, as I do my scrubs regularly and my skin isn’t rough in the first place.
My pores, well, it did seem to make it look smaller, but everyone knows once you pores are enlarged, there’s no way to make it go smaller. At least not through creams and stuff. I might be wrong though.
Free radical defense? I don’t know! Is there any way to measure or check this? Let me know! And since my skin is not saggy (not at the moment!), I don’t know if my skin is firmer.
There’s slight fragrance in this product, which is quite pleasant. And I like this because it’s not oily. You know how I stay away from cream products because they tend to get really oily on me. >_< Not good. So I stick to emulsions or gel-like products. But Olay Total Effects is an execption! It’s not oily and goes on matte, which is what i like. And a dollop, like a peanut size is more than enough to spread on the whole face with some remaining for the neck!
I will be buying this again, as I think this is quite a nice product, with anti-ageing properties and what nots
It goes on sale rather often, so peel your eyes for this!
Sorry Loreal, but I’ve found myself a new love!

I’ve heard great reviews about this moisturiser, but too bad it doesn’t work for me. Just too rich for my oily skin for the day. Do they have the fragrance-free version in M’sia? Over here, there’s a dry-skin version, sensitive-skin version and a fragrance-free version

Haha great review. I love it last time but now I love my BB Cream more. I continued using Olay after I came back from Australia. It’s much oily for me than before I leave Malaysia.

Traclyn: oh dear, maybe Aussie’s weather changed your skin condition?
i haven’t found a BB cream that i really really like, so… am still searching!

Did you happen to see the new Olay product that is sort like a BB Cream. It acts a foundation also…

ohmypetticoat: well, i saw, but i just find it weird. LOL. i like to separate my moisturizer and foundation
to me, bb creams are MU stuff, like foundation

Yeaps I think it did because I only need to use cleanser there once a day but here twice. I’m using Skinfood Aloe Sun, it’s not bad. Still a little oily for me around nose area…

Traclyn: I think Aussie’s weather is drier? I’m not sure, haven’t been there

nice to hear you having a positive experience with it. I’m on my early 20s mark and I’m not sure if I want to start preventing wrrinkles now. I started using sunblock two years ago and I did notice a big difference that no new brown or blood spot popping up on my face. yay. I would never buy La mer even if I had the money..

hmmm tried olay before and it just seems too oily for me esp the t-zone, becoming some oil tank. i usually buy olay for my mom though, and she loves it.
p/s: 25 is indeed a sad phase
