Happy April’s Fool! Fooled anyone yet?
I know I haven’t been blogging regularly, because work has been really hectic and I’m sorta really tired from all these, but still, it’s work, so have to be positive about it!
So due to work stress and all, my skin is getting a bit problematic. I shall list it down for you.
- Big pores
- Dry Skin
- Wrinkly skin
- Sallow
- Flaky
- Skin feels saggy?
You get the whole picture right?
So I need cleansers, toners, moisturizers and everything right! Which I have already told you about my current cleanser, Neutrogena Hydro Boost and now shall review the toners, which I totally love!
I have been using this for a fairly long time, but it’s not until recently that I find that it works really really really well for my problematic skin! Maybe my normal skin didn’t need the extra moisture and all… so I couldn’t feel the effects as much?
Oh well.
Hada Labo Arbutin Whitening Lotion
I use this in the mornings, because I have a separate one for night use. Heee, I separate my skincare into 2 sets, so it takes me twice as long as anyone else to finish their skincare!
Excuse the wrinkly hands!
It’s a little milky, a little frothy, but not thick. It’s like any other toner, ie. Laneige, runny and liquid-y, and my skin absorbs it like real fast! A few pats and all’s done! Ready for the next stage! Awesome for mornings when I wake up late. Tee hee.
I’m not sure if I’ve seen my spots getting lighter, but at least this toner is full with Hyaluronic Acid that fills my thirsty skin with enough moisture, allowing it to look normal, at least it got a wee bit of radiance and translucency to it, if I squint in front of the mirror hard enough. LOL. And by the way, I brought this with me to Melaka and Bangkok, and haven’t experience in me getting any darker. Wonder is it the Etude House sunblock or is it this toner?
Anyway, this isn’t a terribly expensive toner so I guess I’ll repurchase this? At least it’s free from fragrances, mineral oil and alcohol.
And no. My review isn’t done!
Now for my toner which I use at night.
Hada Labo Super Hyaluronic Acid Moisturizing Lotion
I think I heard someone call me crazy? I am and I’m not afraid to admit it!
So yeah, I use this at night.
Because of it’s texture.
Excuse the wrinkly hands!
It’s clear and kinda runny, BUT it’s texture is totally DIFFERENT than the Whitening one.
This original one gives a slippery feel when you pat it on your skin, like a thin film, before it gets absorb into your skin. It takes a wee bit longer to get absorb than the whitening one, so that’s why I use this at night, where I have more time to pat it into my skin. It’s also a little bit more sticky compared to the whitening, maybe due to it’s slightly thicker texture.
I feel that this is a bit more moisturizing than the whitening one, and I have to be kinda careful with the amount used. Anything too much will result in slippery and sticky skin. But both works well to provide adequate moisture to my skin.
I like the whitening one for day better because it requires lesser work and does the job nicely for the day when I sip water every now and then, unlike at night where I sleep in an air-conditioned room and I drink no water! For night, original is awesome! My skin is less oilier in the morning if I used it the night before.
By the way, sometimes if I feel my skin is extra dry, I do use the original in the mornings too! I even use them (whitening & original) on my undereyes for extra moisture before topping up an eye cream as it is horribly dry as of late. Works nicely me thinks, but I think I need to get a more hydrating/ moisturizing eye cream already.
Overall, I really like how both the toners work for me and in a pinch, it does serves as a mask too! Soak cotton pads with the either one toner and leave it on!
Works as an eye mask too!
It’s not only me who thinks Hada Labo’s toner rocks because other beauty sisters says this is great stuff too!

You can purchase it in Watsons/ Guardian if you are located in Malaysia or Singapore. I’m not sure about other countries though.
